Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Tuesday, 5 October 1948:  Jeanerette - Funeral services were held today at the Baldwin Catholic church for Mrs. Jules Pitre, 64, the former Olivia Goulas, whose death occurred in a New Iberia hospital.  Interment took place in the Baldwin Catholic cemetery.  She is survived by 11 children, Mrs. Antoine Lancon of Baldwin; Felix Pitre of Franklin, Mrs. Alex Nolan of Charenton, George Pitre of Loreauville; Rene Pitre, Alex Pitre, Emile Pitre, Mrs. Henry Daigle, Jules Pitre, Miss Lucy Pitre and Raoul Pitre, all of Jeanerette; one brother, George Goulas of Jeanerette; two sisters, Mrs. Simon Pitre of Port Arthur, Texas and Mrs. Anthony Lancon of Savannah, Georgia.  Mouret's Funeral Home of Jeanerette was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Emma Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Monday, 8 October 1990:  Emma Pitre Lancon, 85, a native of Sorrell and resident of Baldwin, died Saturday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m.  Visitations will be held Tuesday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in the Baldwin Catholic Cemetery.  She is survived by one brother, Jules Pitre; two sisters, Mrs. Alex Edna Nolan and Mrs. Henry Rita Daigle.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Lancon; her parents, Jules and Olivia Goulas Pitre; five brothers, Felix, George, Rene, Raoul and Emile Pitre; two sisters, Mrs. S. O. Alice Prevost, and Miss Lucille Pitre.  Landry's Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.

Felix Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Thursday, 9 August 1973:  Felix Pitre died today in the Franklin Foundation hospital following a lengthy illness.  He was 67.  He was a native of Jeanerette but had resided in Franklin most of his adult life.  Visitation will be held today from 5 to 11 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption with burial following in the Franklin cemetery.  He is survived by his widow, Ethel Hebert Pitre; one son, Darel J. Pitre of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Dianne Governale of Patterson and Mrs. Norma Clements of Centerville; four brothers, Raoul, Jules and Rene Pitre of Jeanerette and George Pitre of Loreauville; three sisters, Mrs. Alex Nolan of Charenton, Mrs. Emma Lancon of Baldwin and Mrs. Rita Daigle of Jeanerette, and eight grandchildren.

 

Marie Edna Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Tuesday, 19 March 1991:  Mrs. Alex Nolan, the former Edna Pitre, 83, of Jeanerette, died Monday, at 9:05 a.m. at her residence.  She is survived by one son, Donald J. Nolan of Labadieville; one daughter, Mrs. Boyd (Enola) Mouret Sr. of Jeanerette; one brother, Jules Pitre of Sorrel; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Rita) Daigle of Sorrel; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Nolan; father, Jules Pitre; mother, Olivia Goulas Pitre; a daughter, Mrs. Sammy (Joyce) Ramagos; five brothers, Felix Pitre, George Pitre, Emile Pitre, Rene Pitre and Raoul Pitre; two sisters, Alice P. Prevost and Lucille Pitre.  Visitations were scheduled for today from 8 a.m. to service time at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bill Crumley officiating. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Charenton.  Mrs. Nolan was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton.  A native of Sorrel, she was a resident of Jeanerette, and a former resident of Charenton and Welsh.  The Landry-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

George Eno Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Friday, 23 May 1986:  George Enoe Pitre, 77, died Thursday, at 5:15 p.m., at Iberia General Hospital.  Visitations will be on Friday, at 1 p.m., at David's Funeral Home, with funeral services held on Saturday at 10 a.m.  Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville and burial will be in the church cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Yolande Judice; one son, Arlen, of Loreauville; and one daughter, Carolyn Hammons, of Shreveport; two brothers, Jules and Raoul; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Lancon, of Baldwin, Mrs. Rita Daigle, of Jeanerette, and Mrs. Edna Nolan, of Welch; and four grandchildren.  David's Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Sunday, 20 June 1965:  Mrs. Esso Prevost, 52, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roual Pitre in Jeanerette at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.  Mrs. Prevost, the former Alice Pitre, was a native of Jeanerette, and had lived for a short time in Franklin.  Cause of death is presumed to be a heart attack.  Funeral services were held in the Baldwin Catholic church at 10 a.m. Saturday, with burial in the Baldwin cemetery.  Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Antoine Lancon of Baldwin, Mrs. Alex Nolan of Charenton; and Mrs. Henry Daigle and Miss Lucille Pitre of Jeanerette; and five brothers, Felix Pitre of Sterling, George Pitre of Loreauville, and Rene, Jules and Roual Pitre of Jeanerette.

Rita Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Thursday, 26 June 1997:  Rita Pitre Daigle, 80, of Jeanerette, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, at 1:10 p.m., at the Maison Teche Nursing Home in Jeanerette.  Daigle, a native of St. Mary Parish, is survived by two sons, Eugene Daigle of Franklin, and Henry Daigle Jr. of Jeanerette; five granddaughters, Catherine Daigle of Franklin, Jill Daigle of Lafayette, Beth Dooley of Jeanerette, Stacey Landry of Jeanerette, and Denise LeBlanc of Lafayette; one grandson, Craig Daigle of Houston, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Connie Waltner of Austin, Texas; four great-grandchildren.  Daigle was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Daigle Sr.; parents, Jules Pitre and Olivier Goulas Pitre; six brothers, Emile Pitre, Felix Pitre, George Pitre, Jules Pitre, Raoul Pitre, and Rene Pitre; four sisters, Emma P. Lancon, Edma Nolan, Lucille Pitre, and Alice Provost.  Visitation will be held today at Landry-David Funeral Home in Jeanerette, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a Rosary service at 7 p.m.  Visitations will resume Friday at the funeral home, from 8 a.m. to service time, at 10 a.m., in the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow in the Immeculate Conception Mausoleum in Charenton.  Father Charles Thebis will officiate.  Landry-David Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre, 72, native of St. Mary Parish and resident of Jeanerette, died today, at 2:30 a.m., at Iberia General Hospital.  He is survived by one sister, Rita P. Daigle of Jeanerette.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jules Pitre; mother, Olivia Goulas Pitre; five brothers, Felix, George, Rene, Emile and Raoul Pitre; four sisters, Emma P. Lancon, Edna P. Nolan, Alice Pitre and Lucille Pitre.  Pitre was a retired farmer.  Visitations will be held at Landry-David Funeral Home in Jeanerette today, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and also Friday, from 8 a.m. to time of services at 10 a.m., at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. today.  Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin.  Fr. Randall Moreau will be officiating.  The Landry-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

 

Lucille Pitre:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Monday, 6 May 1968:  Miss Lucille Pitre, 47, died in Shreveport at 9 p.m. last night after a lengthy illness.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jules Pitre of Jeanerette.  Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time, but will be held in Baldwin at the Sacred Heart Church with Landry's Funeral Home of Jeanerette in charge.  Survivors include five brothers, Felix Pitre of Franklin, Raoul, Rene, and Jules all of Jeanerette, and George of Loreauville; three sisters, Mrs. Antoine Lancon of Baldwin, Mrs. Henry Daigle of Jeanerette, and Mrs. Alex Nolan of Charenton.

Raoul Pitre:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Monday, 27 July 1987:  Jeanerette - Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Landry-David Funeral Home Chapel for Roual Pitre, 63, who died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday at a New Iberia hospital.  Entombment will be in St. John Mausoleum.  He was a St. Mary Parish native and Jeanerette resident.  Survivors include his wife, the former Lovenia Guillotte of Jeanerette; a daughter, Mrs. Avery (Eva) Derouen of New Iberia; a brother, Jules Pitre of Sorrel; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Nolan of Welsh, Mrs. Rita Daigle of Sorrel and Mrs. Emma Lancon of Baldwin; and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Pitre Sr. and the former Olivia Goulas; four brothers, Rene, George, Felix and Emile Pitre; and two sisters, Lucille Pitre and Alice Provost.  Visiting hours will be from 8 a.m. to service time Monday.  A rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. Monday.  Landry-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
