Obituary:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Monday, 17 October 1949:  Patrick P. Peters.  Rumford - Patrick Peter Peters, 85, died at the Rumford Community Hospital Saturday morning after an illness of three days.  He had lived in Rumford the last few years.  Mr. Peters was born in St. Louis, Quebec, P.Q., Can., Mar. 17, 1864, the son of Felix and Cecile Doucette Peters.  Surviving are his widow, the former Mary Peters; two sons, Philip and Cyril of Boothbay Harbor; four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Brewer of Boothbay Harbor, Mrs. Emile Blier and Mrs. Theresa Patenaude of Lewiston, and Mrs. Frank Buotte of Rumford; 37 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Obituary:  Record Journal (Meriden, CT), Tuesday, 16 February 1971:  Mrs. Patrick Peters - Mrs. Mary M. Peters, 97, widow of Patrick Peters, of 88 Spring St., died early Monday morning at the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital.  She left 123 direct descendants.  She was born March 14, 1873, in Tignish, Prince Edward Island, Canada.  She made her home in Rumford, Me., before coming to Meriden, to live with her daughter, Mrs. Josephine Blier.  Mrs. Peters was a member of St. Joseph's Church.  In addition to Mrs. Blier, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Anne Buotte, of Rumford, Me., and Mrs. Minnie Brewer, of Boothbay Harbor, Me.; two sons, Cyril Peters and Philip Peters, both of Boothbay Harbor; 32 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at the Coulombe Funeral Home, Rumford, Me.  Local arrangements are under the direction of Albert Flatow and Son.

Marie Ann Pitre:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Saturday, 16 September 1972:  Mrs. Mary Buotte.  Rumford - Mrs. Mary Anne Buotte, 77, wife of Frank Buotte, died unexpectedly Friday at her home, 51 Falmouth St.  She was born Aug. 5, 1895, at Palmer Road, PEI, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Peters.  She had been a resident here for 60 years and was a communicant of St. Athanasius St. John Church.  Mrs. Buotte was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and Altar Society.  Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Gerard, Nelson and Melvin, all of Rumford; two daughters, Mrs. Celina Quigley and Miss Anna May Buotte, both of Rumford; two brothers, Philip and Cyrille Peters, both of Boothbay Harbor; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Brewer, Boothbay Harbor, Mrs. Josephine Blier, Meriden, Conn., and Mrs. Theresa Vishe, Sacramento, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

 

Josephine Pitre:  Record Journal (Meriden, CT), Thusrday, 20 May 1993:  (photo) Meriden - Josephine Blier, 90, of 247 Cook Ave., died Tuesday, May 18, 1993, at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center, West Campus.  She was the wife of the late Emile Blier.  She was born on June 10, 1902, in St. Louis, Prince Edward Island, Canada, the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Peters Peters.  Prior to moving to Connecticut she made her home in Rumford and Lewiston, Maine.  She was retired from the housekeeping department at the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital in Meriden and was a member of St. Joseph Church.  She is survived by a daughter, Delia Gervais of Waldoboro, Maine; five sons, Gerard and Edward Blier of Meriden, Edmund Blier of Wallingford, Joshua (Emile) Blier of Faison, N.C., and Joseph (Ernest) Blier of Poland, Maine; a sister, Minnie Brewer of Boothbay Harbor, Maine; many nieces and nephews; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held Friday, May 21, at 7:30 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, Meriden, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Church.  Burial will be Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine.  Friends may call at the Flatow Home from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Friday.  Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Office of Radio and Television, Archdiocese of Hartford.

 

Marie Martha Pitre:  Portland Press Herald (ME), 9 March 1995:  Minnie M. Brewer - Boothbay Harbor:  Minnie M. Brewer, 91, died Monday at a Lewiston nursing home.  She was born in St. Louis, Prince Edward Island, a daughter of Patrick and Mary Peters.  Mrs. Brewer, a mother of 10 children, was well known for her love of knitting and her talent in the art of crocheting.  She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.  Her husband, Leonard Brewer Jr., died in 1977.  She also was predeceased by a daughter, Mona, and three sons, Charles L., Leonard III and Maynard.  Surviving are four daughters, Madeline Zajac of Middletown, Conn., Marguerite Anderson of Bath, Marie Dolloff and Isabelle O'Neal, both of Lisbon Falls; two sons, Clarence of Boothbay Harbor and David of Wiscasset; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in the spring.  Arrangements are under the direction of Simmons & Harrington Funeral Home.
