Obituaries for the children:
Augustin 'Justin' Pitre: Cheniere Caminada (LA), 19 January 1890: Mr. Editor: Cheniere Caminada has just had the sorrow of losing one of its best citizens. Mr. Augustin Pitre has just died at the age of -- years. Married to a Miss Lefort, he was the father of many children. Tireless worker and good father, he died leaving his widow and children a secure future. It was in his fishing work that he contracted the illness which was to lead him to the grave. Until his death he retained his awareness; he called upon all those with whom he had difficulties, and after securing their friendship and the forgetting of the past, he died surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Augustin Pitre died on January 15th, at 9 o'clock in the morning. The next morning a large gathering came to his home to accompany him to the grave. A grand sung mass, and a Requiem were sung at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes by the Reverend Father Grimualt, the local parish priest. After the mass, Reverend Father Grimault delivered a very moving speech about death and enumerated the qualities of the deceased. At his grave, while throwing a little soil, Dr. Frederic said these simple words: "May we one day, friend, be like you, dying the death of the Just and Regretted."
