peacefully to his maker while at home surrounded by his family on Saturday,
October 7, 2023 after living a life full of love and joy. He was a native
and resident of Galliano. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church on Tuesday, October 10th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in
the church cemetery. Lawson is survived by his children, Laura P.
(Johnny) Bourgeois, and Ned A. Pitre; grandchildren, Barry John (Tracy)
Bourgeois, and Laurie Lynn (Karl) Doucet; great-grandchildren, Allie
(Justin) Segura, John Bourgeois, Dr. Alex Bourgeois, and Austin (Camille) Doucet;
great-great-grandchild, Brooks Doucet and many nieces and nephews.
Lawson was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Wilma Pitre Pitre;
parents, Marcial “To To” and Clarice Duet Pitre. Lawson proudly
served our country in Europe for the United Sates Army Air Corp. in World War
II. He had a long career in the oilfield industry working for
