Obituary: Falgout Funeral Homes (LA): Lawson “Scott” “Ponie” Joseph Pitre, 99, returned peacefully to his maker while at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 7, 2023 after living a life full of love and joy. He was a native and resident of Galliano. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 10th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Lawson is survived by his children, Laura P. (Johnny) Bourgeois, and Ned A. Pitre; grandchildren, Barry John (Tracy) Bourgeois, and Laurie Lynn (Karl) Doucet; great-grandchildren, Allie (Justin) Segura, John Bourgeois, Dr. Alex Bourgeois, and Austin (Camille) Doucet; great-great-grandchild, Brooks Doucet and many nieces and nephews. Lawson was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Wilma Pitre Pitre; parents, Marcial “To To” and Clarice Duet Pitre. Lawson proudly served our country in Europe for the United Sates Army Air Corp. in World War II. He had a long career in the oilfield industry working for Texaco/Chevron where he retired. Falgout Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pitre family.

Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Sunday, 14 November 2021: Wilma P. Pitre, 92, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was a native and resident of Cut Off, LA. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Lawson "Scott" Pitre; children, Laura (Johnny) Bourgeois and Ned Pitre; grandchildren, Barry John (Tracy) Bourgeois and Laurie Lynn (Karl) Doucet and great grandchildren, Allie (Justin) Segura, John Bourgeois, Alex Bourgeois, Austin (Camille) Doucet and nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eustache and Marie Pitre and brother, Whitney Pitre. Wilma dedicated 20 years of service to Citizens Bank. She loved going to the casino, preparing throws for Mardi Gras, listening to books on tape and learning about her family's genealogy. She loved and took great pride in her family and was truly cherished in return by her loved ones. Per Wilma's wishes, no services will be held at this time. She will be greatly missed. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
