- Malden News (MA): JOHN M. PETRIE, ACCIDENT VICTIM, IS LAID TO REST - Funeral services for John M. Petrie, 66, of 163 Bryant Street, who was killed when struck by a car at Eastern Ave. and Bryant Street Thursday evening, were held yesterday morning from the Carroll Funeral home with a high Mass of Requiem at the Sacred Hearts Church. Mr. Petrie, husband of the late Margaret (Arseneau) Petrie, had left his home after dinner and was fatally injured as he was crossing the intersection. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Malden Hospital. Rev. Joseph I. McInnis was celebrant of the Mass which was attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends. Burial was in the family lot at Holy Cross cemetery with Rev. Peter B. Linehan, pastor of the Church of the Little Flower, Everett, pronouncing the committal service.
