Obituary:  Times Picayune, 5 March 1972:  Maximillian Pitre Sr., at Galliano, La., on Friday, March 3, 1972, at 5:00 o'clock p.m.; husband of the late Leocade Dantin; father of Ignace, Maximillien Jr., Harris and Felix Pitre, Mrs. Linzie Cheramie, Mrs. Andrew Hebert, Mrs. Elizabeth Callais, Mrs. Garris Danos and Mrs. Laura Pitre; survived by 18 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; age 94 years; a native of Leeville, La., and a resident of Golden Meadow, La.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Falgout Funeral Homes Inc., Galliano, La., on Sunday, March 5, 1972, at 3:00 o'clock p.m.  Religious services at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, La., at 3:30 p.m.  Interment in Church Cemetery.  Arrangements by Falgout.

Victoria Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet, June 1991:  A funeral took place today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow for Victoria P. Cheramie, 86, a native of Leeville and resident of Galliano who died at 11 a.m. Monday (10th).  Interment was in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.  She was the wife of Linzie Cheramie; sister of Harris, Mack and Felix Pitre, Blanche Hebert, Elizabeth Calais and Edna Danos.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Locade Dantin and MacMillion Pitre; and a brother, I.J. Pitre.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet, February 1998:  Elizabeth Pitre Callais, 89, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died at 11:34 a.m. Wednesday, Feb.  4, 1998.  Visitation was scheduled from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Mass was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. today at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.  She is survived by two sons, Dickson J. and Norman J. Callais; two daughters, Rowena Callais Cheramie and Ruth Callais Adams; one sister, Laura Hall; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Onezime J. Callais; her parents, Maxilliam and Locadih Dantin Pitre; one son, Russell J. Callais; four brothers, Maxillianm, Felix, Harris, and I.J. Pitre; three sisters, Blanche Hebert, Edna Danos and Victoria Cheramie; and one grandchild.

 

Maximillien John Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet, August 1996:  Maxime John Pitre, 86, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died at 12:41 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11 (1996).  His body will be cremated.  He was the husband of Lorica Toups Pitre; father of Clifford J. Pitre of Gretna and Enesia Cabirac of New Orleans; brother of Blanche Hebert and Laura Hill, both of Westwego, and Elizabeth Callais of Cut Off.  He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Maximillian and Leocade Dantin Pitre; and two great-grandchildren.  He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Cut Off.  Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.


Harris Bernard Pitre:  Harris Bernard Pitre, 80, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Houma, died Friday, May 14, 1993.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Gisclair Pitre; her parents, Maximillian Sr. and Leocade Dantin Pitre; two brothers, Felix Pitre and I. J. Pitre; and one sister, Victoria P. Cheramie.  He was a member of the Living Word Church and was ordained by the Gospel Ministry in 1982.  He was also a local businessman.  Falgout Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Danos - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Edna Pitre Danos, 80, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off who died at 7:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7.  Visitation was held at the church from 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday.  Burial was held in the church's cemetery.  She is survived by her daughters Helen D. Hebert and Jeanette D. Terrebonne; brother, Maxime Pitre; sisters Blanche Hebert, Elizabeth Callais and Laura Hill; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Torris Danos; parents Maxillien and Leocadie Dantin Pitre; son Wilbert Danos; brothers I. J., Harris and Felix Danos; sister Victoria Cheramie; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of the arrangements.

Hill.  Mother of Irvin Frickey, Roland Frickey, and the late Tommy Frickey.  Sister of the late Victoria Cheramie, Blanche Hebert, Elizabeth Collia, Edna Danos, Harris Pitre, Angus Pitre, Maxmillion Pitre, Jr., and Felix Pitre.  Daughter of the late Maxmillion Pitre, Sr. and Leocadie Dantin Pitre.  Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Ladies' Auxilliary are invited to attend the Funeral Services from the Chapel of Westside/Leitz/Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero, La. on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 10:00 A.M.  Followed by Interment in Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, La.   Visitation on Tuesday evening February 1, 2005 from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday morning, February 2, 2005 from 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Westside-Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home.

Pitre, 73, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off who died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday (17th).  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  He was the husband of Olivia Adams Pitre; father of Errol Pitre and Loretta Curole; brother of Maximillion Jr. and Harrie Pitre, Laura Hill, Edna Danos, Elizabeth Callais and Blanche Hebert.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maxmillion Pitre; a brother, Ignace Pitre; and a sister, Victoria Cheramie.  In lieu of flowers, donations to favorite charity are preferred.  Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
