Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 18 September 1944:  On Saturday, September 16, 1944, at 7:15 o'clock p.m., Raphael Pitre, beloved husband of Louise Bruce; father of Mrs. Joseph Lorrine, Mrs. Louis Sapia, Mrs. Orville Plaisance, Mrs. Eugene Wetzel, Inez Pitre, Jelma and Alcide, Corporal Louis J. Pitre and Private Joachim Pitre, serving in the armed forces; also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a native of Lafourche.  Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place Monday, September 18, 1944, at 9 o'clock a.m., at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic church, Golden Meadow, La.  Interment in Cheramie cemetery.  Chauvin and Thibodeaux, Thibodaux, La., in charge.

Marguerite Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Monday, 12 July 1993:  Marguerite Pitre Sapia, a homemaker, died Sunday at Stonebridge Guest Home in Gretna.  She was 82.  Ms. Sapia was born in Leeville, La., and lived in Marrero for 62 years.  Survivors include three sisters, Emma P. Plaisance, Amelia P. Wetzel and Inez P. Fricano.  A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 West Bank Expressway in Marrero.  A Mass will be said at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., in Marrero.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.

Joachim Pitre:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Friday, 25 November 1988:  New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wayne Khoury Memorial Chapel at David Mortuary for Joachin Pitre, 73, who died at 3:09 p.m. Thursday in a New Iberia hospital.  Entombment will be at Holy Family Mausoleum.  The Rev. Larry Mitchell will officiate.  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sonya P. Gaspard of New Iberia; and four sisters, Margaret Sapia, Emma Plaisance, Emelia Wetzel, and Inez Centrero of Marrero.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Prince Pitre; his parents, Rapheal Pitre and Louise Bruce Pitre; three brothers, Pierre, Louis and Alcide Pitre; three half-brothers, Gracien, Denison and Gustave Plaisance; a half-sister, Graciene Plaisance.  He was a Leeville native, New Iberia resident, a retired derrick man in the oil industry and World War II Army veteran.  Visiting hours will be from 2 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time Saturday.  David Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Amelia Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Wednesday, 18 June 1997:  Mrs Amelia Pitre Wetzel, 72 - Amelia Pitre Wetzel, a retired school cafeteria manager, died Sunday of liver failure at West Jefferson Medical Center.  She was 72.  Mrs. Wetzel was born in Golden Meadow and lived in Marrero.  Survivors include a son, Lonny Wetzel; three daughters, Caroline Robichaux, Kathlyn Thomassie and Genie Ohmer; a sister, Inez Fricano; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be today from 7 to 11 p.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, and Thursday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., Marrero.  A Mass will be said Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Fricano, Sr.  Daughter of the late Raphael and Louise Bruce Pitre.  Loving mother of Frank R. Fricano (wife, the late Sharon), Philip F. Fricano, Jr. and Ann Fricano Woods (husband Roy).  Grandmother of Joshua and Jacob Bitoun, Frank, Anthony and Lauren Fricano.  Great Grandmother of Ily Fricano, Alicia LaPoint, and the late Natalie LaPoint.  Special aunt of Agnes Ann Michel.  Sister of the late Joachim Pitre, Pierre Pitre, Alcide Pitre, Louis Pitre, Gus Plaisance, Marguerite P. Sapia, Emma P. Plaisance, Amelia P.
