Marie Lydia Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 15 February 1944: Lydia Fontenot, 63, of Prairie Ronde, died Sunday at 7:15 a.m. at her home. Funeral services arranged by Lafond of Opelousas, were held in the Catholic church in Prairie Ronde, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. D. Senneville officiated. Mrs. Fontenot is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Houston Prudhomme and Mrs. Ame Prudhomme, Opelousas and Mrs. Ivy Moreau, Prairie Ronde; two sons, Amede Fontenot, Prairie Ronde, and Seward Fontenot, U.S. Army and three grandchildren.

Marie Azelie Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 2 February 1965: Funeral services for Mrs. Dallas Landry, 76, of Opelousas, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Landry, the former Azelia Pitre, died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday at Opelousas General Hospital. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors are two sons, Chapman and Alcide Dupre Sr., both of Prairie Ronde; one step-son, Warren Landry of Mamou; three daughters, Mrs. Dalton Reed of Opelousas, Mrs. Anson Darbonne and Mrs. Camille Leger both of Prairie Ronde; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Wesley Hull of Opelousas and Mrs. George Prudhomme of Eunice. A lso surviving are one brother, Desamar Pitre of Opelousas; one sister, Mrs. Arcade Dupre of Prairie Ronde; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Louis Desmar Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 11 February 1970: Funeral services for Desmar Pitre, 80, of 1346 W. Bellevue St., Opelousas, will be held at 3 p.m. today at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Park under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home. Mr. Pitre died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Opelousas General Hospital following a long illness. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways. Survivors are his widow, the former Alida Vige of Opelousas; two sons, John R. Pitre of West Monroe and Lionel Pitre of Opelousas; three daughters, Mrs. Harvey Bertrand of Opelousas, Mrs. Leas Young of Ville Platte and Mrs. Edward McFee of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Arcade Dupre of Prairie Ronde; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Celestine Heloise Anges Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 27 October 1971: Prairie Ronde - Funeral services for Mrs. Arcade Dupre of Prairie Ronde will be held at a high mass at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dupre died at 5:45 a.m. today at Opelousas General Hospital. She was 78. She was the former Celestine Pitre, a well known resident of the Prairie Ronde area. Mrs. Dupre was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. Her body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home in Opelousas, where the rosary will be recited at 8 tonight. Survivors are three sons, Syble Dupre of Prairie Ronde, Louis and A. C. Dupre, both of Opelousas; one daughter, Mrs. Rodney Dupre of Opelousas; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
