Obituary:  Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (NY), Thursday, 11 September 1980:  LaShomb, Leo J. - Sept. 8, 1980.  Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Anna Mae LaShomb and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Steger; 8 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren, his sisters, Charlotte VanVranken, Myra Kirchoff, Marion Gagnon and Mrs. George (Esther) Leary.  No prior calling.  Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.  Friends wishing may contribute to the Endowment Fund of the Church of the Master, 3495 Lake Ave. in his memory.  Arrangements: Farrell Brother's.

 

Misc.:  Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, NY), Friday, 13 March 1942:  Jack Lashomb, 10, of 50 Delmar St. suffered a fractured right leg while playing with a group of boys on the way home from school shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday.  He was taken to the Municipal Hospital in St. Mary's ambulance.  Police said young Lashomb and playmates were turning handsprings in the snow.

Donald Leo Lashomb:  Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, NY), Monday, 20 October 1952:  (photo) Rheumatic fever claimed another victim this weekend when a 24-year-old Rochester husband and father died.  Donald LaShomb, 13 Alden Rd., passed away late Saturday night (Oct. 18, 1952) in Veterans Hospital, Buffalo, of a rheumatic heart condition.  He is survived by a 24-year-old wife, Joyce Hovey LaShomb, and a 22-month-old son, David.  Mr. LaShomb had been ill since April, when he was stricken for the fourth time with rheumatic fever.  He was in General Hospital for medical treatment until last Thursday, when he was taken to Buffalo.  He said good night to several members of his family who were visiting him at 9:15 o'clock.  He died an hour and a half later.  His last attack of rheumatic fever, before the fatal one, was in 1945, after he was discharged from the Navy after eight months of wartime service.  He arrived home with influenza.  This was followed by ear trouble, the mumps and finally rheumatic fever.  He was ill nearly a year.  When he regained his health, he married and started work in the color print department at Eastman Kodak Company, where he was employed until last April.  He first had rheumatic fever when he was 9 1/2 years old.  He was ill again when 16.  A native Rochesterian, born Aug. 23, 1928, he attended Schools 42 and 30 and was a pupil at Jefferson and Charlotte High Schools.  It was while he was in the latter that he enlisted in the Navy.  After training at what was then Sampson Naval Base he went to San Diego Hospital for further instruction as a hospital corpsman.  The LaShombs lived in a new home, purchased four years ago, which they decorated themselves.  Mr. LaShomb had just built a garage on the property when he became ill.  He was a bowler and loved to fish and hunt, but all his activities were curtailed because of his heart condition.  He was a member of the Lake Side Presbyterian Church.  He leaves, besides his wife and son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo LaShomb, 232 Chili Ave., and two brothers, Gary and Jacques.  Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Hedge Memorial Chapel, University Ave.

Gary Albert Lashomb:  Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, NY), Sunday, 28 February 2021:  Gary Albert LaShomb.  Naples - age 91 passed away Jan. 7, 2021.  Gary is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Annamae; his sons Dale and Kevin (Janet); grandchildren Ryan (Carly), Jason (Maria); great-grandchildren, Jonah, Owen and Annamaria.  Gary dedicated many years to the Explorer Scouts in Rush.  His years of involvement included many trips, including several to Philmont Scout Rand.  Gary started working for General Foods at the age of 17 and retired from there in 1984.  He and Annamae then enjoyed traveling in their motorhome.  He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Due to Covid, we will wait and have a celebration of Gary's life this summer in Naples, NY.

 

Jacques Duane Lashomb:  Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (NY), Friday, 19 November 1976:  LaShomb, Jacques D. (Jack) of 91 Yarkerdale Dr., Thursday, Nov.18, 1976.  Survived by his wife, Joyce (Grace) LaShomb; 3 sons, Donald, Keith, and Mark LaShomb; 2 daughters, Lynnette and Michelle; his father, Leo LaShomb; his brother, Gary LaShomb; 2 grand children; several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call Friday 2-4, 7-9 at the Vay & Schleich Funeral Home, Inc., 2692 Dewey Ave.  Memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:30 at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3000 Dewey Ave.  Interment, Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make contributions to the Memorial Fund of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
