Obituary:  Opelousas Courier, Saturday, 5 April 1890:  Died on Plaquemine Ridge, March 27, 1890, Mrs. Lastie Pitre, aged about 45 years.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Adam Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas), Friday, 21 October 1955:  Adam Pitre, 80, died at 2 a.m. today at his home in Lawtell following an illness of a year.  The body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  The rosary will be recited there at 5:30 p.m. today.  Services will be read at a requiem mass at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell.  Interment will be in the adjacent cemetery.  Pitre is survived by his wife, the former Melanie Prejean; a son, Marion; five daughters, Mrs. Laurent Prudhomme, Mrs. Elie Joubert, Mrs. Amon Bellard, Mrs. Amy Moreau, and Mrs. Adolph Darbonne, all of Lawtell.  Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
