Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Pitre:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 29 November 1947:  Joseph Pete.  Lincoln, Nov. 28 - Joseph Pete, 79, died this morning in a local hospital.  He had been a resident of Lincoln more than 50 years, and had been employed by the Eastern Corporation, and later by the Maine Central railroad.  Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Peter Cyr of Portland, Mrs. Peter Rose of New York City, Mrs. David Scuccimarra of Blairsville, Pa., Mrs. Harry Brown of Lincoln, and Mrs. John Urban of Bridgeport, Conn.; four sons, Fred, Elwood, Dennis, and James, all of Lincoln.  Funeral services will be held Monday morning, at 9 o'clock at Saint Mary's Catholic church in Lincoln.  Interment will be in Lincoln cemetery in the family lot.
