Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 29 November 1947:  Joseph Pete.  Lincoln, Nov. 28 - Joseph Pete, 79, died this morning in a local hospital.  He had been a resident of Lincoln more than 50 years, and had been employed by the Eastern Corporation, and later by the Maine Central railroad.  Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Peter Cyr of Portland, Mrs. Peter Rose of New York City, Mrs. David Scuccimarra of Blairsville, Pa., Mrs. Harry Brown of Lincoln, and Mrs. John Urban of Bridgeport, Conn.; four sons, Fred, Elwood, Dennis, and James, all of Lincoln.  Funeral services will be held Monday morning, at 9 o'clock at Saint Mary's Catholic church in Lincoln.  Interment will be in Lincoln cemetery in the family lot.

Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 12 November 1945:  Mrs. Catherine Pete.  Lincoln, Nov. 11 - Mrs. Catherine Pete, 64, died suddenly at her home here Nov. 9.  She was born in Madawaska, daughter of Peter and Florence Bellefoure Paridy.  Surviving her are her husband, Joseph Pete; five daughters, Mrs. Charles P. Cyr of Portland, Mrs. Peter B. Rose of Garnerville, N.Y., Mrs. David Cuccamarra of Blairsville, Pa., Mrs. John Urban of Bridgeport, Conn., and Mrs. Harry Brown of South Lincoln; four sons, Fred and Dennis of Lincoln, James L. and Edward J. of the U. S. Army; a sister, Mrs. Ben Green of Portland; three half-sisters, Mrs. Isaac Albert of Freedom, Mrs. Frank Violette and Mrs. Alfred Talouse, both of Augusta; and a half-brother, Olando Shaw of Lincoln.  Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, the Rev. Thomas Nelligan officiating.  Interment will be in Lincoln cemetery.

Pete:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 16 June 1952:  Fred Pete.  Lincoln, June 15 - Fred Pete, 51, died in a Brewer hospital Friday after a short illness.  He was born in Kingman, March 23, 1901, son of Joseph and Catherine (Shaw) Pete.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walter Tate, Miss Dorothy Pete and Miss Evelyn Pete of Lincoln; four sons, Arthur, Windham, O.; Lawrence, U. S. Army; and Merton and Lloyd, of Lincoln; three brothers, Dennis, Elwood and James, all of Lincoln; and five sisters, Mrs. John Urban, Bridgeport, Conn.; Mrs. Madeline Scuccamara, of Pennsylvania; Mrs. Charles Cyr, Portland; Mrs. Peter Rose, Garnerville, N.Y., and Mrs. Nellie Brown of Lincoln.  Funeral services will be held at the Barton Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Buck, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.  Burial will be in the Lincoln cemetery.

Madeline Cecilia Pete:  Indiana Gazette (Indiana, PA), Monday, 13 January 1992:  Madeline C. Scuccimarra, 85, Decker Street, Blairsville, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1992, at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe.  The daughter of Joseph and Catherine Pete, she was born March 27, 1906, in Lincoln, Maine.  Mrs. Scuccimarra was a member of SS. Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, where she was a member of the C.D. of A., Court of St. Theresa and the Italian Mutual Aid Society Auxiliary of Blairsville.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ann Mosco, Blairsville and Mrs. Helen Walters, Apollo; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis and Alwood Pete, both of Lincoln, Maine; and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Brown, Lincoln, Maine.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a wake service will be held at 3 p.m. today.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Monsignor Thomas J. Klinzing as celebrant.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Dennis Joseph Pete:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 11 December 1998:  Dennis J. Pete.  Lincoln - Dennis J. Pete, 86, husband of Grace (Rich) Pete, died Dec. 10, 1998, at a Bangor hospital.  He was born in Lincoln, March 23, 1912, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Parody) Pete.  Dennis worked at Lincoln Pulp & Paper for 42 years.  He was a member of Minerva Lodge No. 96 IOOF and a member of Horeb Lodge No. 93 AF & AM.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.  In addition to his wife of more than 60 years, Grace, he is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Michaud; two grandchildren, Lorna Lyons and her husband, Peter, all of Lincoln, and Stephen Michaud and his wife, Jennifer of Lee; three great-grandchildren, Adrienne, Nathan, and Camryn Lyons of Lincoln; a brother, Elwood Pete of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by four sisters, Helen Rose, Madeline Succimara, Priscilla Urban, and Catherine Brown; and two brothers, Fred Pete and James Pete.  Friends may call 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Clay Funeral Home.  A Masonic memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by funeral services, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.  Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

 

James Louis Pete:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Thursday, 20 March 1986:  Rome - James Louis Pete, 74, died late Monday evening at his residence on Crystal Spring Road, following a short illness.  He was born in Lincoln, March 22, 1911, son of Joseph and Katherine (Paradis) Pete.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.  He had lived in Bristol, Conn., where he worked as a machinist for New Departure Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1975.  He moved to Rome in 1975.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, both in Connecticut.  He is survived by his wife, Anita (Paradis) Pete of Rome; four sons, Robert Myers of Rome, Roy Myers of Grafton, W. Va., George Myers of Richland, N.C., and Brian Myers of Bristol, Conn.; nine daughters, Lois Trial and Rita Michaud, both of Southington, Conn., Pearl Jarvis of Medway, Kay Pete of Caribou, Rose Dechaine of Wallingford, Conn., Barbara Guirriere of Bristol, Conn., Thelma Williamson of Clinton, Bobbie Benacquisto of West Hartford, Conn., and April Prosser of Richland, N.C.; two brothers, Dennis Pete of Lincoln and Elwood Pete of Ellsworth; four sisters, Catherine Brown of Houlton, Madoline Scevccamarri of Pennsylvania, Priscilla Urban of Bridgeport, Conn., and Helen Pete of New York; 44 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, Oakland.  Spring burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Houlton.

Elwood Joseph Pete:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 8 November 2002:  Elwood J. Pete Sr.  Lincoln - Elwood J. Pete Sr., 87, husband of Madeline (Jipson) Pete, died Nov. 6, 2002, at a Lincoln hospital, after a very brief illness.  He was born in Lincoln, Dec. 24, 1914, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Paradis) Pete.  Elwood served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He was section foreman for the Maine Central Railroad for many years.  He later worked for Worcester Brothers in Lincoln, until his retirement.  He loved hunting in his younger days.  He adored his family.  In addition to his wife of 61 years, Madeline; he is survived by five children, Elwood Jr., of Florida, Betty Hanegan and Linda Tash, both of Lincoln, Rhonda Dame of New Hampshire and David Pete of Hampden, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the nurses at Penobscot Valley Hospital for their kindness and loving care.  There will be no funeral or visiting hours.  Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home.

 

Catherine Joseph Pete:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 26 September 1998:  Catherine J. Brown.  Howland - Catherine J. Brown, 79, died Sept. 24, 1998, at a Lincoln hospital.  She was born in Lincoln, Jan. 2, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Parady) Pete.  Catherine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.  She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 59 years, Harry Brown Sr. of Howland; three children, Mary Brown of East Hartford, Conn., Harriet Shorey of Bangor and Harry Jr. and his girlfriend, Gloria Cookson of Waterville; seven grandchildren, Jewelle Righenzi of Westerly, R. I., Barbara LaPlante and her husband, Paul of Bradley, Dennis Brown and his wife, Sherry of Iowa City, Iowa, Andrea Brown of New Milford, Conn., Heidi Shorey of Bangor, Harry 'Chuck' Brown III and his wife, Mary-Lynn of Augusta, and Douglas Brown of Augusta; -- great-grandchildren, Mandy Carr of Fairfield, Katherine 'Katie' Brown of Augusta, Christopher Perkins and Anthony Brown of Augusta, and Jonathan, Kimberly and Jason Brown of Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers, Dennis Pete and his wife, Grace of Lincoln, and Elwood Pete and his wife, Madeleine of Ellsworth.  She will also be sadly missed by Wally and Lilly Champion and their daughter, Becky, whom she thought of as grandchildren.  She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Catherine Marion, in 1942; a grandson, Robert Brown, in 1995; four brothers and four sisters.  At her request, there will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to EMMC Heart Center, Bangor.  A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Dodlin Road Cemetery, Enfield, with the Rev. Wilmont Thurlow officiating.
