Joseph Albert Pitre:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Monday, 14 April 1969:  St. Stephen - Albert Joseph Peters died at Saint John General Hospital on Friday following a lengthy illness.  He was 61.  Born in Amherst, he was a son of Jerome and Catherine (Gallant) Peters.  A decorator painter by trade, Mr. Peters specialized in oil painting decoration in various churches throughout the Maritime provinces and has done decorative work in his home church the Holy Rosary Church of which he was a member.  He was married to the former Miss Clara Ruth Watson.  He was a member of the Holy Name Society and was a Grand Knight of the St. Croix Council No. 140 Knights of Columbus in Calais, Me.  Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Joseph Albert Peters of Milltown; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon Murray of Robinsonville, four brothers, Francis X. Peters of Revere, Mass., Joseph J. Peters of Wilmington, Mass., Henry J. Peters of Everett, Mass., and Wilfred J. Peters of North Weymouth, Mass.; four sisters, Mrs. John Armstrong of Revere, Mass., Mrs. Margaret Haumann of Chelsea, Mass., Mrs. Michael Hourilan of Everett, Mass., and Mrs. John Holland of Revere, Mass., five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Resting at the S. O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held this morning from Holy Rosary Church for high mass of requiem at 10 a.m.  Interment will take place at the Milltown Cemetery.

John Wilfred Pitre:  Patriot Ledger (Quincy, MA), Tuesday, 17 February 2004:  Wilfred J. Peters.  Hignham - Wilfred J. Peters, 83, of Hingham, a retired cabinetmaker, died Friday at home.  Mr. Peters worked for Custom Woodworking Co. in Weymouth for 20 years.  He retired in 1985.  He was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.  A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army as a private first class from 1942 to 1944.  He graduated from Hart Trade School in Boston as a cabinetmaker in 1952.  Mr. Peters lived in Hingham for 16 years.  He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Rennie) Peters; a daughter, Dianne Carter of Sante Fe, N.M.; a son, James E. Peters of Weymouth; a brother, Joseph Peters of Maine; a sister, Rose Holland of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren.  There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. March 6 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hingham.  There are no visiting hours.  Arrangements were made by Shepherd Funeral Home, Weymouth.

 

Henry Anthony Peters:  The Boston Globe (MA), Tuesday, 21 September 1999:  Henry Joseph Peters - Retired MBTA employee, at 76 - Henry Joseph Peters of Pompano Beach, Fla., a retired MBTA employee, Army veteran, and former longtime resident of Everett, died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.  He was 76.  Mr. Peters was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia.  His family relocated to the United States in the 1920s, and he graduated from the Immaculate Conception school in Revere in 1941.  He served in the Army during World War II.  He worked for the MBTA for 26 years and was a member of the Local 589 Transit Union.  Mr. Peters and his wife Eleanor (Driscoll) moved to Pompano Beach in 1984.  Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Paul S. of Revere; four daughters, Anne M. Copithorne of Taunton, Barbara J. Mullin of Malden, Catherine Porcella of Revere, and Eileen Gravinese of Roslindale; a sister, Rose Holland of Tyngsborough; two brothers, Joseph of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and Wilfred of Hingham; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.  A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Everett.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Everett.
