Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 22 October 1961 - On Friday, Oct. 20, 1961, at 1:20 o'clock p.m., Marcel John Pitre, father of Marius and Peter Pitre of Houma, La., Mrs. Theophile Pellegrin of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Warner Ellender of Bourg, La., Mrs. Harris Lecompte of Houma, La., and the late Bernard and Lawrence Pitre and Mrs. Alex Gautreaux.  Age 92 years.  Also survived by 96 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Services from Chauvin Funeral Home, Houma, La., on Sunday, Oct. 22, 1961 at 2 o'clock p.m.  Interment in Magnolia cemetery, Houma, La.

Joseph Marius Pitre:  Pitre Rites Incomplete - Marigus Joseph Pitre of 835 Sandi St., died Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 1 a.m. at the age of 81.  He was the spouse of Mrs. Elvire (Daisy) Pellegrin Pitre and father of Ories and Morris Pitre, both of Houma, Reynold Pitre of Chauvin and Acklund Pitre of Jackson, Mrs. Claude (Mae) Boudreaux and Mrs. Roy (Daisy) Cunningham, both of Houma, and the late Mrs. Allen Duplantis.  He was the half-brother of Peter Freeman of Gonzales and brother of the late Bernard and Lawrence Pitre, Mrs. Warner Ellender of Bourg, Mrs. Alerie Williams and Mrs. Harris LeCompte, both of Houma and the late Mrs. Alex Gautreaux.  He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Services remain incomplete, but services will be conducted from Holy Rosary Catholic Church here, with burial rites to follow in the church cemetery.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Marie Alerie Pitre:  Houma Courier (LA), Friday, 1 May 1981:  Alerie Pitre Williams, 77, died 7 a.m. Thursday.  Visitation will be from 8 a.m. today until funeral time at Chauvin Funeral home.  The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic church, with burial following at the church cemetery.  Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Williams; three sons, Joseph Pellegrin Sr. of New Orleans, Joseph Junior Pellegrin of Houma, and Marcel A. Pellegrin of Bayou Blue; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Azelia Bourg of Houma; one sister, Mrs. Harris LeCompte of Houma; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Camellia Detiveaux and Marcel Pitre.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
