Obituary:  1973:  Pitre Rites Incomplete - Marigus Joseph Pitre of 835 Sandi St., died Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 1 a.m. at the age of 81.  He was the spouse of Mrs. Elvire (Daisy) Pellegrin Pitre and father of Ories and Morris Pitre, both of Houma, Reynold Pitre of Chauvin and Acklund Pitre of Jackson, Mrs. Claude (Mae) Boudreaux and Mrs. Roy (Daisy) Cunningham, both of Houma, and the late Mrs. Allen Duplantis.  He was the half-brother of Peter Freeman of Gonzales and brother of the late Bernard and Lawrence Pitre, Mrs. Warner Ellender of Bourg, Mrs. Alerie Williams and Mrs. Harris LeCompte, both of Houma and the late Mrs. Alex Gautreaux.  He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Services remain incomplete, but services will be conducted from Holy Rosary Catholic Church here, with burial rites to follow in the church cemetery.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Maurice Paul Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA) January 2000:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma for Morris Paul Pitre, 80, a native of Bourg and resident of Houma, who died at 8:16 p.m. Jan. 2, 2000.  Visitation will be 4 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rogers Cemetery in Houma.  He was the husband of Cora Ledet Pitre; father of Maurice Jr., Theresa and Brian Pitre, Louella Lyons, Gloria Cormier and Mona Johnson; and brother of Mae Pitre Boudreaux.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Marius and Elvia Daisy Pellegrin Pitre; one unnamed son; brothers, Oris, Reynold and Ackland Pitre; sisters, Vivian "Blondie" Pitre Duplantis Theriot and Daisy Pitre Cunningham; and grandchildren, Jessical Lorraine Lirette and Seth Landry Pitre.  He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and First Assembly of God.  He liked hunting, fishing and playing his guitar.  He was employed as a trawler, trapper and cook for John D. Reynold Joseph Pitre:  Houma Courier (LA), Friday, 22 February 1980:  Reynold Joseph Pitre, 58, a resident of Box 30, Chauvin and a deck hand for LeBoeuf Towing Co., died Thursday.  Visitation is continuing until funeral time at Chauvin Funeral Home.  The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin.  Survivors include his wife, Ena Theriot Pitre; his mother, Elvire Pellegrin Pitre; three sons, Raymond, Dale and Chris Pitre of Chauvin; a daughter, Mrs. Verne (Jane) Hutchinson of Houma; three brothers, Oris Pitre of Theriot, Morris Pitre of Houma, Ackland Pitre of Gonzales, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Daisy) Cunningham of Houma, Mrs. Claude (Mary) Boudreaux of Lafayette; five grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by by his father, Marius Pitre; two daughters, Tammy and Mary Ann Pitre; a sister, Vivian Duplantis; and two grandchildren.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.


Ackland Pitre:  Houma Courier (LA), Thursday, 12 June 1980:  Ackland (Pete) Pitre, 56, died 4:15 am Wednesday.  Visitation will be until midnight today at Chauvin Funeral Home, resuming 8 am Friday and continuing until funeral time.  The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.  Survivors include his mother, Elvire (Daisy) Pellegrin Pitre; two brothers, Oris and Morris Pitre of Bayou Dularge; two sisters, Mrs. Claude (Mae) Boudreaux and Lafayette and Mrs. Roy (Daisy) Cunningham of Houma.  He is preceded in death by his father, Marius Pitre; a brother, Reynold Pitre; and a sister Mrs. Vivian Duplantis.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
