Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Murphy "Blackie" Peter Marie of Houma; four daughters, Loretta Marie, Gail Rogers, Kate Melancon and Saundra Bird of Houma; two brothers, Floyd Pitre and Ray Pitre of Houma; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Pitre and Josephine Leonard Pitre; six brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow Mass in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of seventy two years, Carmel Bergeron Pitre; his sons, Richard “Dickie” Pitre and wife Janie and Glynn Pitre; daughter, Barbara Pitre Gauthier and husband Martin Gauthier; grandchildren, Anne Villa, Stephanie Mott, Angela Lucas, Margaret Jarrett, Michael Liner, Gregory Liner, Paula Coussou, Jay Whitaker, and Brian Whitaker; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
