Mildred Pitre:  Mildred Pitre Marie, 83, a native and resident of Houma, died Thursday, April 11, 2002.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.  She is survived by her husband, Murphy "Blackie" Peter Marie of Houma; four daughters, Loretta Marie, Gail Rogers, Kate Melancon and Saundra Bird of Houma; two brothers, Floyd Pitre and Ray Pitre of Houma; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James Pitre and Josephine Leonard Pitre; six brothers; and one sister.  She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

James Joseph Pitre:  James Joseph "Jimmy" Pitre Jr., 74, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1996.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Hazel Authement Pitre of Houma; two sons, Michael James and Gary Paul Pitre, both of Houma; one daughter, Linda Pitre Henley of Marrero; two brothers, Ray and Floyd Pitre, both of Houma; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Leonard Pitre Sr.; five brothers, Gayden, Roy, Raymond, Gerald, and A. J. Pitre; and two sisters, Hilda Pitre and Geraldine Pitre Ledet.  He was a retired supervisor for the city of Houma water plant, a U.S. Army Veteran; member of the V.F.W., fourth degree Knights of Columbus.  He was an usher and parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Floyd Anthony Pitre:  Floyd Anthony Pitre, 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 3:55PM.  He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.  Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 9:00AM until service time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00AM.  Burial will follow Mass in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.  Floyd is survived by his loving wife of seventy two years, Carmel Bergeron Pitre; his sons, Richard “Dickie” Pitre and wife Janie and Glynn Pitre; daughter, Barbara Pitre Gauthier and husband Martin Gauthier; grandchildren, Anne Villa, Stephanie Mott, Angela Lucas, Margaret Jarrett, Michael Liner, Gregory Liner, Paula Coussou, Jay Whitaker, and Brian Whitaker; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, James Pitre and Josephine Leonard Pitre; brothers, Roy Pitre, Ray Pitre, and James Pitre; and sisters, Geraldine Ledet and Mildred Marie.  Floyd is a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Armed Forces during World War II.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.  Floyd was a member of the American Legion Post #31.  Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pitre family.
