Obituary: James Joseph "Jimmy" Pitre Jr., 74, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1996. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Authement Pitre of Houma; two sons, Michael James and Gary Paul Pitre, both of Houma; one daughter, Linda Pitre Henley of Marrero; two brothers, Ray and Floyd Pitre, both of Houma; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Leonard Pitre Sr.; five brothers, Gayden, Roy, Raymond, Gerald, and A. J. Pitre; and two sisters, Hilda Pitre and Geraldine Pitre Ledet. He was a retired supervisor for the city of Houma water plant, a U.S. Army Veteran; member of the V.F.W., fourth degree Knights of Columbus. He was an usher and parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Michael J. Pitre and wife, Sandra, and Gary P. Pitre and wife, Hilda, of Houma; one daughter, Linda Marie Henley and husband, Glen, of Marrero; one sister, Mildred Shadduck of Houma; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Pitre Jr.; her parents, Martial Authement and Henrietta Chaisson Authement; seven brothers, Wilfred, Wilson, George, Jackson, Jimmy, Isreal and Harry Authement; and three sisters, Adele Cantrelle, Edna Price and Lena Pitre. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

survived by his wife, Sandra Brown Pitre of Houma; three sons, Michael
Pitre, Jr. of Houma, Robert Pitre and wife Rosalyn of Houma, and
Christopher Pitre of St. Croix; one daughter, Jeanette Pitre Robichaux
and husband Scott of Raceland, La.; one brother, Gary Pitre and wife
Hilda of Houma; one sister, Linda Pitre Henley and husband Glen of
Marrero, La.; and five grandchildren, Beau Stevens, Tyler Pitre, Tayler Pitre,
Madison Robichaux and Kaitlyn Robichaux. He was preceded in death by
his parents, James Joseph Pitre Jr. and Hazel Authement Pitre. He
was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He was a
self-employed machinist. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at St. Louis Catholic
Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the
church cemetery. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
