Obituary:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Thursday, 9 August 1973:  Felix Pitre died today in the Franklin Foundation hospital following a lengthy illness.  He was 67.  He was a native of Jeanerette but had resided in Franklin most of his adult life.  Visitation will be held today from 5 to 11 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption with burial following in the Franklin cemetery.  He is survived by his widow, Ethel Hebert Pitre; one son, Darel J. Pitre of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Dianne Governale of Patterson and Mrs. Norma Clements of Centerville; four brothers, Raoul, Jules and Rene Pitre of Jeanerette and George Pitre of Loreauville; three sisters, Mrs. Alex Nolan of Charenton, Mrs. Emma Lancon of Baldwin and Mrs. Rita Daigle of Jeanerette, and eight grandchildren.

Obituary:  St. Mary and Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), Monday, 30 May 1994:  Ethel Hebert Pitre, 82, of Franklin, died May 26 at Franklin Foundation Hospital.  She is survived by one son, Darel Pitre of Franklin; two daughters, Dianne Pitre Governale of Patterson, and Norma Pitre Clements of Centerville; one sister, Emily Hebert Bodin of Franklin; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Pitre; parents, Nicholas Hebert and Ella Falterman Hebert.  Visitations were held at Ibert's Mortuary Saturday, from 9:30 a.m., to time of service, at 1 p.m., at the Church of Assumption.  Interment followed in the Franklin Cemetery.  Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Darel Joseph Pitre:  Daily Iberian (New Iberia, LA), Sunday, 14 April 2013:  A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, April 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Mr. Darel Joseph Pitre, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 1:45 p.m. at the Franklin Health Care Center.  Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.  Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.  Mr. Darel was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard.  He retired in the early 80's from Sterling Sugars, where he was employed as supply clerk.  He was a member of the Church of the Assumption, where he also sang in the choir, and was also a member of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Franklin.  Mr. Darel is survived by his two sisters, Dianne Pitre Governale of Patterson and Norma Pitre Clements of Centerville; four nephews, Dwayne Clements of Atlanta, Chad Governale of Maurice, James Governale of Stephensville, and Scott Governale of Patterson; four nieces, Dana C. Rivere of Centerville, Deborah C. Zimmer of Lafayette, Maria "Fran" Francesca G. Lantz of Patterson, and Darla C. Ackman of Centerville; as well as numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Pitre and Ethel Hebert Pitre; and two brothers-in-law, Alton Clements and Frankie Governale.  A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at the Church of the Assumption from 11 a.m. until time of Mass at 1 a.m., with the rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m.  Serving as pallbearers will be Dwayne Clements, Chad Governale, James Governale, Lynn Veron, Amar Lancon, and Mike Bodin.  Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Governale.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc.

 

Dianne Pitre:  Franklin Banner Tribune (Franklin, LA), 19 February 2018:  Dianne Pitre Governale:  September 23, 1937 - February 17, 2018: Dianne Pitre Governale, a longtime resident of Patterson, passed away at her home at the age of 80 on Saturday, February 17, 2018, surrounded by her family.  Dianne was born in Franklin on September 23, 1937, the second of three children born to the late Felix Joseph Pitre and the late Ethel Hebert Pitre.  She was a 1956 graduate of Franklin Senior High School.  On December 30, 1961 she married the love of her life, Frankie James Governale, and the two began raising their family.  She later went to work at Patterson High School where she worked as the school secretary for 26 years, retiring in 1999.  She also worked for many years alongside her husband as an election commissioner at their polling place.  She was a longtime and faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson where she sang in the choir and helped for their annual St. Joseph’s Altar.  Some of her favorite pastimes were playing Pokeno, gardening, going to Champions Gym, attending community concerts, and going on travel trips with family and friends.  But by far, what was most important in Dianne’s life was her family, whom she deeply loved.  She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her four children, Chad Michael Governale of Maurice, James Anthony Governale and his wife Heidi of Stephensville, Maria Francesca Governale Lantz and her husband Kent of Patterson, and Scott Thomas Governale of Patterson; three grandsons, Dominic Michael Governale, Devyn Christopher Governale, and Copeland Randall Atkinson; one sister, Norma Pitre Clements of Centerville; two sisters-in-law, Jean Carol Governale of Patterson and Antoinine Governale Erler and her husband Richard of Broussard; as well as her three nieces and her nephew.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Frankie James Governale; her brother, Darel J. Pitre; brother-in-law, Alton J. Clements; and her in-laws, Russell Governale and Molly Cutrera Governale.  A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 20, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a wake service and rosary at 6:30 p.m., led by Father Herb Bennerfield.  Visitations will resume at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.  Father Michael Russo will be the Celebrant for the Mass, with Father Herb Bennerfield, Father Angelo Cremaldi, and Father Oneil Landry concelebrating.  Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kent Lantz, Dwayne Clements, Jacob Marcell, Leonard “Lenny” Armato, Robert Marcell, and Roger Henke.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc., 1111 Lia Street, Patterson, La.
