Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 21 November 1961: Eunice - Last rites were conducted Monday at 9 a.m. for Mrs. Austin Hebert, 62, of Eunice, who died at 5 a.m. Saturday in Lake Charles, following an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Hebert was the former Ludy Cortez. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in Lawtell. Ardoin's Funeral Home of Eunice was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include three sons, Enies Pitre and Edward Pitre, both of Eunice, and Horace Pitre Jr. of Hampshire, Tex., four daughters, Mrs. Fred Quibodeaux and Mrs. Plenny Darbonne, both of Eunice, Mrs. A.C. Matt of Sulphur and Mrs. Theo Lejeune Jr. of Basile; one brother, Noah Cortez of Opelousas, and 15 grandchildren.

Ms. Thibodeaux, a resident of Eunice, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at Moosa Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Monday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church here. Survivors include: two sons, Newton Thibodeaux and Leonance Thibodeaux, both of Eunice; two daughters, Shirlene T. Sheets, of St. Amant and Doris Thibodeaux, of Eunice; a brother, Edward Pitre, of Eunice; three sisters, Emily Matt, of Lake Charles, Ethel Darbonne, of Eunice and Theresa LeJeune of Basile; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary of Winnie. A native of Lawtell, La., he had lived Hamshire 17 years and was a roughneck and a World War II veteran. Theresa Pitre: Eunice News (LA), Tuesday, 14 April 2020: Basile - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Theresa P. LeJeune announces her passing on Monday, April 13, 2020 at Eunice Manor at the age of 91. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Protestant Cemetery with Pastor Mike Fontenot officiating. Theresa was a homemaker who loved working in her community where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Basile. She loved working in her vegetable garden but most of all she a great cook and loved to prepare meals for her family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by the loves of life, her husband, Theo LeJeune; her son, Ronnie LeJeune; her parents, Joseph Horace and Ludy Cortez Pitre; her siblings, Inez P. Thibodeaux, Emily P. Matt, Ethel P. Darbonne, Enies Pitre, Joseph Horace Pitre, Jr. and Edward Pitre. Ardoin's Funeral Home of Basile, is in charge of arrangements.

Horace Joseph Pitre: Basile Weekly (Basile, LA), Thursday, 22 November 1984: Funeral services were held Monday, November 19, for Horace Joseph Pitre, Jr., 53, of Hamshire, Texas, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fennett, Texas, with burial in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard Mortuary of Winnie, Texas. A rosary was recited Sunday night at the mortuary. Pitre died Saturday at his home after a long illness. He was a native of Lawtell, but had lived in Hamshire for 31 years. He was a seaman and a Korean veteran. Survivors include his wife, Lutha Mae Bazinet of Hamshire, 4 sisters, Inez Thibodeaux and Henry Ethel Darbonne, both of Eunice, Emma Lee Matt, Sulphur, and Theresa LeJeune, of Basile; 1 brother, Edward Pitre, Tucson, Arizona, and his in-laws, Paul Bazinet and Merzy Bazinet, both of Basile.
