Obituary: The Eunice News (Eunice, LA), Thursday, 14 March 1996: Funeral services were held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 1996 for Edward Pitre, 71, with burial following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Pitre, a resident of Eunice, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 1996 at Moosa Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Jennie B. Pitre of Eunice; two sons, Kenneth Pitre of Port Allen and Gerald Pitre of Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, JoeAnn Fontenot of Confort, Tx.; two step-daughters, Norma Jean Travis of Jackson, La. and Diana Miller of Eunice; three sisters, Theresa LaJeune of Basile, Emma Lee Matte of Sulphur and Ethel Darbonne of Eunice; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
