Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 1 August 1956:  Frank X. Peters - Smyrna Mills, July 31 - Frank X. Peters, 64, died today at an Island Falls hospital after a long illness.  Born at Summerside, Prince Edward Island, September 21, 1892, he was the son of the late Leo and Mary (Brown) Peters.  He had been a resident of Smyrna Mills for 44 years.  Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; five sons, Leo, Lawrence and Francis, all of Smyrna Mills, Earlon of Plantsville, Conn., Kenneth of Milford, Mass.; three daughters, Mrs. Archie McDonald of Smyrna Mills, Mrs. Cassius Heckett of Old Orchard Beach, Mrs. Joseph Cessario of Plantsville, Conn.; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Cail of Brownville Junction, Mrs. Lawrence Small of Danvers, Mass., Mrs. Jack Hubbard of South Nelson, N.B.; two brothers, Albert and Henry, both of South Nelson, N.B.; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.  Friends may call at the Bowers funeral home at Island Falls.  Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 10 March 1978:  Mary (Lizzie) Peters.  Merrill - Mary (Lizzie) Peters, 86, died at a Houlton hospital after a long illness March 9, 1978.  She was born April 12, 1891 in Merrill, daughter of Michael and Ida Splan.  She is survived by: four sons, Leo and Lawrence, both of Smyrna Mills, Kenneth of Mendon, Mass., and Erlon of Meriden, Conn.; two daughters, Beulah Hackett of Augusta and Dolly Cessario of Southington, Conn.; 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Island Falls, with the Rev. Antonio Amato officiating.  Friends may call at the Bowers Funeral Home in Island Falls Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Burial will be in Merrill Cemetery.

Peters, 73, died at Houlton, March 2, 1987.  He was born in Merrill, Nov. 6, 1913, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Splan) Peters.  He is survived by his wife, Minerva (Boyle) Peters; one daughter, Constance Bridges of Meriden, Conn.; two sons, Carl and Francis Peters, both of West Haven, Conn.; one step-daughter, Karyl Menzies of Oscoda, Mich.; two sisters, Beulah Hackett of Old Orchard Beach and Dorothy Cessario of Plantsville, Conn.; three brothers, Lawrence of Oakfield, Kenneth of Sanford, and Earlon of Meriden, Conn.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church in Smyrna with the Rev. Patricia Bristow officiating.  Friends may call at the Bowers Funeral Home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.  Friends who wish may donate in his memory to the Smyrna Mills Methodist Church or a charity of their choice.  Burial will be in Merrill Cemetery.

 

Lawrence Azial Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Thursday, 14 January 1993:  Lawrence Peters.  Merrill - Lawrence Peters, 77, died Jan. 13, 1993, at Houlton.  He was born May 19, 1915, in Merrill, the son of Frank and Mary (Splan) Peters.  He was a member of the Oakfield VFW and Fish & Game Club.  He is survived by eight children, Elden of Merrill, Rodney of Houlton, Lorraine Eaton of Coventry, Conn., Laurel of Meriden, Conn., Cheryl Sullivan of Manchester, Conn., Timothy of Dyer Brook, Tammy Peters of Manchester, Conn. and Trina Peters of Oakfield; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandson; one brother, Carl Peters of Meriden, Conn.; two sisters, Dolly Cerio of Southington, Conn. and Beulah Hackett of Old Orchard Beach; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel in August, 1992; one daughter, Demaris Lynn; and three brothers, Leo, Kenneth and Francis.  Friends may call at the Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the County Road Baptist Church, with Greg Arnold officiating.  Spring interment will be in Merrill Cemetery.

Beaulah Kathleen Peters:  Maine Sunday Telegram (Portland, ME), Sunday, 18 December  1994:  Beulah K. Hackett Longtime CMP Worker.  Beulah K. Hackett, 78, of Lake Ave., died Saturday at Maine Medical Center in Portland.  She was born in Smyrna Mills, a daughter of Francis and Mary E. Splan Peters.  She attended local schools and graduated from Merrill High School in 1934.  She and her husband, Cassius O. Hackett, moved here during World War II from Smyrna Mills.  For many years until her retirement in 1980, Mrs. Hackett was employed by Central Maine Power Company.  She retired as supervisor for the Southern District Billing Department in the Augusta office.  She was a member of St. Margaret's Parish.  Her husband died in 1958.  A son, Terrance H. Hackett, died in April 1993.  Surviving are two daughters, Dawn Covault of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Mrs. David A. (Carole M.) Ray of Scarborough; a sister, Dorothy Cessario, and a brother, Earlon Peters, both of Plantsville, Conn; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Biddeford.  Arrangements are by the Old Orchard Beach Funeral Home.

Virginia Mary Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 12 November 1965:  Mrs. Virginia McDonald.  Merrill - Mrs. Virginia McDonald, 47, died at an Island Falls hospital Thursday after a long illness.  She was born at Brownfield Junction, June 16, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Splan) Peters.  She was a member of the Methodist Church at Smyrna Mills.  She is survived by her husband, Archie of Merrill; one daughter, Mrs. Adrienne McDonald of Meriden, Conn.; two sons, Lawrence of Norwich, Conn. and Kenneth of Merrill; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Peters of Merrill; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Hackett of Augusta, and Mrs. Dorothy Cessario of Plantsville, Conn.; five brothers, Leo and Kenneth of Milford, Mass., Lawrence of Merrill, Francis of Deep River, Conn., and Earlon of Meriden, Conn.; three grandchildren, several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at Bowers Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Smyrna Mills Methodist Church with the Rev. Dorothy Mae Peters:  Record Journal (Meriden, CT), Monday, 27 October 1997:  Dorothy P. Cessario.  Southington - Dorothy P. Cessario, 73, of 7 Parkview Drive, Plantsville, died peacefully with her family Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, at Bradley Memorial Hospital.  She was the wife of Joseph Cessario.  Born Oct. 5, 1924, in Merril, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Splan) Peters.  She was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church and the Ladies' Guild of the church.  Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Teresa McInnis and her husband Stephen, and Joanne Maskell and her husband David, all of Plantsville, and Patricia Querino and her husband Carl of Marlboro, Mass.; a brother, Carl E. Peters and his wife Roberta of Meriden; five grandchildren, Michael and Christopher McInnis, Jeremy Musshorn, and Carrie and Matthew Querino; she was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Jane Cessario; four brothers, Leo, Lawrence, Francis, and Kenneth Peters; and two sisters, Beulah Hackett and Virginia McDonald.  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home to Mary Our Queen Church at 10 a.m.  Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Donations may be made in her memory to the Franciscan Home Care.
