Betty Lou Pitre: The Daily Comet (LA):
Betty Lou Pitre Shavor, 81, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died

sons, Michael Shavor, of Donner, David Shavor, of Abiquiu, N.M.,
and James Shavor, of Baton Rouge; 16 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Bertha Tassin,
of Harvey. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Palmer
"P.N." Shavor, whom she adored; parents, Wallace and Stella Pitre;

Annelle Baye, Ezola Fazzio, Eula Rodrigue, Mildred Thomassie, Annabelle Pitre,

children. After only a brief courtship, Betty Lou and P.N. married, bonded
their kids, and had an instant family of six
children, a difficult task for any family, and an especially hard one in 1959.
After having one more child together a year later, they successfully raised
seven children. Betty Lou was the heart of the family bonding the children
and making sure each one felt her love. Her biggest achievement was the
happy home of the Shavor Family on Apricot Street. The family would like
to especially thank Dr. James Ellis, the staff of St. Joseph Hospice of
Thibodaux, particularly Joanna Benoit her primary nurse, and all the nurses and
staff. Thanks also goes to her nieces and additional caregivers, Peggy
Authement, Janelle Comeaux, and Judy Jennings. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
