Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Benson "T-Ben" J. Pitre, 86, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Raceland, died Jan. 22, 2003.  Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Hillary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial at St Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.  He is survived by his wife, Earline Z. Pitre; son, Daryl Joseph Pitre; daughter, Janale Comeaux and Leolia Trosclair; stepson, Gary Pertuit; sisters, Nell Baye, Mildred Thomassie, Ezola Fazzio, Bert Tauzin, Annabelle Pitre and Betty Shavor; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Stella Hebert Pitre; brothers, Cleveland, Wallace and Stanley Pitre; and sister, Eula Rodrigue.  He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 349, V.F.W. Post of Raceland, Woodman of the World and an usher at St. Hilary Catholic Church.  He was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church.

Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Sunday, 15 July 1979:  Irene Marie Pitre, on Saturday, July 14, 1979 at 2:05 p.m., wife of Benson Pitre; mother of Janale Gigllo, Leontia Adams, Darryl Pitre; sister of Alfred, Jessie, Junior, Sedrick, Aston, Lolan and Norman Knight; also survived by 5 grandchildren.  Age 61 years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Landry Funeral Home, Thibodaux, La., on Monday, July 16, 1979 at 10:30 a.m., followed by religious services at St. Genevieve Catholic Church at 11:00 p.m.  Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Obituary:  The Courier (Houma, LA), Wednesday, 20 January 2021:  Earline Zeringue Pitre, 96, a native of St. Charles Community and resident of Lockport, died peacefully at 6:40 am Tuesday, January 19, 2021.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.  She is survived by her son, Gary Pertuit and wife Olenda; 2 granddaughters, Tammy Gillies and husband Russell and Kelly Pellegrin and husband Barry; 4 great-grandchildren, Katlyn Gillies Hagen and husband David Lee, Hailey Gillies, Luke Pellegrin and Madison Pellegrin; stepson, Daryl Pitre and wife Beverly; 2 step daughters, Janale Comeaux and husband Lou and Leolia Trosclair; 7 step-grandchildren, Shane Giglio, Gina Giglio, Tonia Jansen, Tiffany Brumfield, Lacie Allemand, Adam Pitre and Amanda Gros; 13 step-great-grandchildren, Dalton Giglio, Gage Giglio, Tyler Parker, Aliesha Brumfield, Isaiah Brumfield, Hayden Allemand, Braden Allemand, Chloe Allemand, Krystina Pitre, Christopher Pitre, Kaitlyn Pitre, Damien Gros and Benson Gros, one step-great-grandchild, Finn Giglio and two sisters, Rita Pertuit and Clara Bell Matherne.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Raoul and Lucia Hebert Zeringue; her first husband, Harold Pertuit and infant daughter, Cynthia Pertuit; her second husband, Benson Pitre; step son-in-law, Louis Trosclair; step-granddaughter, Roxie Aucoin; 6 brothers, Thompson, Camille, Clifton, Malcolm, Blaise and Dennis Zeringue and 4 sisters, Gladys Bilello, Louise Stevens, Laura Mae Dominigue and Jeanne Luquette.  Earline was a loving mother and grandmother who loved life.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, g rowing vegetables and took great pride in her beautiful flowers.  Her very favorite past time was spending time with her family.  Her smiling face and laughter will be greatly missed by all that knew her.  The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of The Broadway Nursing Home for their kindness and dedicated care.  Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
