Obituary:  Times Picayune (LA), Thursday, 23 August 1951:  At the residence, Lafayette, La., on Tuesday, August 21, 1951, at 8:30 o'clock p.m., Aggie Marie Dupre, beloved wife of Elie J. Pitre, daughter of the late Joseph Dupre and Nozelia LeBoeuf, sister of Dennis, Willis, Loveless, Sidney and Paul Dupre, also Mrs. Elie LeBoeuf, Mrs. Ralph Dupre, Mrs. Ira Savoie, Mrs. Jules Minnich, Mrs. Lawrence Chauvin and Mrs. Waldron Eschete; aged 40 years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from the residence of Loveless Dupre, Chauvin, La., on Thursday, August 23, 1951, at 3 o'clock p.m.  Services at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Chauvin, La.  Interment in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Chauvin, La.  Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, La., in charge.

Obituary:  Abbeville Meridional (Abbeville, LA), Thursday, 10 September 1959:  Mrs. Elie Pitre Services are Held.  Funeral services were conducted at the Broussard funeral home in Erath at 4 p.m., Wednesday for Mrs. Elie Pitre, 65, the former Laurence Goutierrez, who died in the Erath hospital at 1 p.m., Tuesday.  Mrs. Pitre was a resident of Delcambre.  Burial was in the Miguez cemetery at Delcambre.  Survivors include her husband; one son, Anthony Broussard of Erath; one stepdaughter, Mrs. V. J. Mulbrough of Houma; two stepsons, Leroy Pitre of Lafayette and Wilbert Pitre of Delcambre; and one sister, Mrs. Rudolph Delcambre of Delcambre.  The Broussard funeral home of Erath was in charge of arrangements.

Wilbert James Pitre:  Houma Courier (LA), 1 April 2006:  Wilbert James Pitre, 83, a native of Chauvin and longtime resident of Delcambre, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.  Visitation will be from noon until 10 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia.  A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Herb Bennerfeild officiating.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hilda Boudelouche Pitre of Delcambre; one son, Bryan Pitre Sr. and wife, Sandra, of Delcambre; one brother, LeRoy Pitre, of Lafayette; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Pitre, of Delcambre; five grandchildren, Mary LeBlanc and husband, Kerry, of New Iberia, Bryan Pitre Jr. and wife, Janet, Zachary Pitre and wife, Buffy, Stacie Pommier and husband, Carl, and Patrick Pitre, all of Delcambre; seven great-grandchildren, Len Monceaux and wife, Lena, Austin Sonnier, Trevor Pitre, Adam Pitre and Jayce Pitre, all of Delcambre, Misty LeBlanc of Broussard, and Cheramie Pitre of Dodson; three great-great-grandchildren, Kelsea Monceaux, Braie Monceaux and David Monceaux, all of Delcambre; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie and Leona LeBouef Pitre; one son, David J. Pitre Sr.; one grandson, David J. Pitre Jr.; and one sister, Doris Malbrough.  He was a respected boat builder in several parishes until he started his own business in Delcambre, Pitre Shipyard.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he was an usher and passed the collection.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Pitre Jr., Carl Pommier, Zachary Pitre, Kerry LeBlanc, Len Monceaux, Patrick Pitre and Austin Sonnier.  Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Pitre, Adam Pitre and David Monceaux.  Evangeline Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 1997.  Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time
Friday at Falgout Funeral Home.  The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Mass will be at 10:30 am. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.  She is survived by three sons, Peter E. and Pius J. Malbrough, both of Houma, and Percy J. Malbrough of Augusta, Ga; two daughters, Polly A. Thibodeaux and
Paula M. Ledet,
both of Houma; two brothers, Wilbert and Leroy Pitre, both of Delcambre; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Veday J. Malbrough Jr.; her parents, Elie and Leona LeBouef Pitre; and two sons, Patrick J. and Paul A. Malbrough.  She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Pitre Sr.  Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Lee Roy J. Pitre Sr., 78, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at Southwest Medical Center.  Interment will be in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Lou T. Pitre, of Lafayette; three sons, Lee Roy Pitre Jr. and his wife Lilia, of Lafayette, Jarvis Pitre and his wife, Tammy, of Lafayette and Eric Pitre and his wife, Laura, of Frisco, Texas; nine grandchildren, Desiree Pitre and her husband, Mark, Elizabeth Pitre, Stephanie Pitre, Dilyara and Jana Emiraliyeva, Daniel Pitre, Matthew Pitre, Nathan Pitre and Cohn Pitre; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Victoria Sehedler.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie Joseph Pitre and the former, Leona LeBouef; one brother, Wilbert Joseph Pitre; one sister, Doris Malbrough; and one granddaughter, Emily Pitre.  A native of Chauvin and a resident of Lafayette for 66 years, Mr. Pitre was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army.  He was a retired carpenter, specializing in cabinetry and worked as a supervisor for over 25 years with Dwight Andrus Home Builders.  Prior to that, he built shrimp boats, starting at a very young age with his father.  Mr. Pitre extremely enjoyed the outdoors and his favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, shrimping and crabbing.  A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.  The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Monday, from 8 a.m. until time of service.  Pallbearers will be Lee Roy Pitre Jr., Jarvis Pitre, Eric Pitre, Shane Trahan, John Traschel and James Williams.

- The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 - Lafayette - Services for Lee Roy J. Pitre Sr., 78, were held Monday at La Chapelle de Martin & Castille Funeral Home.  Burial followed in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  He died Saturday at Southwest Medical Center.  He was an Army veteran and a retired cabinet maker.
