Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 25 Aug 1969:  Duard J. Pitre, on Saturday, August 23, 1969, at 6:25 o'clock a.m., husband of the late Blanche M. Charpentier; father of Mrs. Levy Brunet, Mrs. Ernest Barrios, Mrs. Sidney Plaisance, Mrs. Joseph Guidry, Gilbert and Etienne Pitre, brother of Leopold Pitre, Mrs. David Pitre and Mrs. Vincent Cheramie; also survived by 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; age 81 years, a native of Gaillano, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from the Thibodaux Funeral Home, Cut Off, La., on Monday, August 25, 1969, at 9:30 o'clock a.m., religious services at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, La., at 10 a.m.  Interment in Cheramie Cemetery.  Thibodaux Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 28 February 1950 - At New Orleans, La., on Sunday, February 26, 1950, at 4:05 o'clock p.m., Blanche Charpentier, beloved wife of Duard Pitre; daughter of Louise Gisclair and the late Magiora Charpentier; mother of Gilbert, Etienne and Blaize Pitre, Mrs. Sidney Plaisance, Mrs. Levy Brunet and Miss Bessie Pitre, aged 56 years; a native of Cut Off, La.  Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place from the late residence at Cut Off, La., on Tuesday, February 28, 1950 at 3 o'clock p.m.  Religious services at St. Joseph Catholic church, Galiano, La.  Interment in Cheramie cemetery, Galiano, La.  Chauvin & Thibodeaux Funeral Home, Thibodaux, La., in charge.

Gilbert Joseph Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 9 February 1982:  Gilbert Joseph Pitre, 71, a native and resident of Cut Off, died 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in Galliano.  Visitation began this morning at the Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and will remain until funeral time.  The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Cheramie cemetery.  Survivors include his wife, Marie Martin Pitre; two sons, Aubrey and Wade Pitre; one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Bruce; one brother, Etienne Pitre; four sisters, Mrs. Enos Barrios, Mrs. Eves Vegas, Mrs. Levi Brunet and Mrs. Abe Alfred; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is handling the arrangements.

 

Aline Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 30 May 1987:  Funeral services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano for Aline Pitre Vegas, who died at 4:56 p.m. Saturday (30th).  Interment was to be in Cheramie Cemetery, Galliano.  She was the wife of Eves Joseph Vegas; mother of Cassie Plaisance Theriot and Helen Plaisance Sandras; and sister of Etienne Pitre, Mrs. Levy (Bella) Brunet, Mrs. Ernest (Bessie) Barrios and Mrs. Abe (Blaise) Alfrey.  She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sidney Plaisance; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duard Pitre; and brother, Gilbert Pitre.  Arrangements were by Falgout Funeral Home Inc.

Etienne Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Etienne "Fotch" Pitre, a native of Galliano and a resident of Galliano/Golden Meadow, was born Oct. 25, 1916 and died Oct. 30, 2012.  Visitation was held from 1 p.m. till funeral time, 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2012 at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.  Burial followed in the Cheramie Cemetery.  He is survived by his daughters, Elaine Alario and husband Terry Alario, Julia Leday and husband Donald "Cheese" Leday; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Yvonne Williams Pitre; parents, Duard and Blanche Charpentier Pitre; daughters, Kathleen Lee and Carrie Lou Chatagnir; brothers, Gilbert Pitre; sisters, Bella Brunet, Blaze Winfrie, Aline Plaisance; and one grandchild.  He was a Catholic. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bella Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Bella Pitre Brunet, age 88, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 3:19 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008.  Visitation Tuesday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off and to funeral time Wednesday at Community Bible Church in Cut Off.  Religious service Wednesday at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.  Survived by three sons, Elton "Ko-Ko" Brunet and wife, Ena, Levy "E.J." Brunet Jr. and wife, Reba, and Pastor Dr. Dennis Brunet and wife, Rebekah; one daughter, Linda Brunet; one brother, Etienne Pitre; one sister, Bessie Barrios; 14 grandchildren, Duane Brunet and wife, Amy, Monique Pitre and husband, Jody, Cherise Swander and husband, Stephen, Ron Brunet and wife, Desiree, Dawn Orgeron and husband, Trent, Angela Mott and husband, Gareth, Hannah, Elizabeth, Ethan, Sarah, Lydiah, Micah, Leah Beth and Isaac Brunet; and 12 great-grandchildren, Katie and Allie Brunet, Gavin, Grant, and Caroline Pitre, Stephen David and Camille Swander, Andrea Brunet, Carson Orgeron, Isabella and Emelie Mott and Landon Brunet.  Preceded in death by her parents, Duard and Blanche Charpentier Pitre; one son, Teddy "Boy" Brunet; one brother, Gilbert Pitre; and two sisters, Aline Vegas and Blaize Alfrey.  Carver, artist, businesswoman, valedictorian of her graduating class of 1930 and fed untold hundreds at her dinner table.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off.

Blaize Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Blaize Pitre Guidry Alfrey, 76, a native of Galliano and resident of Cut Off, died at 1:05 p.m. Oct. 25, 2002.  Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today al Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.  She is survived by her daughters, Myra Guidry Jackson and Darlene Guidry Bruce; brother, Etiene Pitre; sisters, Bessie Barrios and Bella Brunet; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph "Buck" Guidry; second husband, Abe Alfrey; parents, Duard and Blanche Charpentier Pitre; brother, Gilbert Pitre; and sister, Aline Plaisance Vegas.
