Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 9 February 1982:  Gilbert Joseph Pitre, 71, a native and resident of Cut Off, died 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in Galliano.  Visitation began this morning at the Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and will remain until funeral time.  The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Cheramie cemetery.  Survivors include his wife, Marie Martin Pitre; two sons, Aubrey and Wade Pitre; one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Bruce; one brother, Etienne Pitre; four sisters, Mrs. Enos Barrios, Mrs. Eves Vegas, Mrs. Levi Brunet and Mrs. Abe Alfred; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is handling the arrangements.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Marie Martin Pitre, 88, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 8 a.m. May 11, 2003.  Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.  She is survived by her sons, Aubrey and Wade Pitre; daughter, Audrey Bruce; brother, Victor Martin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and two step-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert J. Pitre; parents, Azenore and Mclia Autin Martin; brothers, Claire, Joseph and Gene "Ben" Martin; sisters,
Gladys Birch, Emeline Theriot, Evelyn Bouzigard and Georgina Perrin.
