Born in Bloomfield, P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late Augustine and Evelyn (Buotte) Pitre. She attended Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Collette, and St. Francois de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Rogersville. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Leo Black (Beatrice), Mrs. Joe Gionet (May), Mrs. Jerry Mazerolle (Apauline) and Mrs. Roger Boucher (Claudia), all of Saint John, and Mrs. Gordon Easson (Evelyn) of Montreal; six sons, Leo and Edward, both of Rogersville, Emanuel and Tom, both of Collette, Edmund of Saint John and Joseph of Charlotte Islands, B.C.; five sisters, Mrs. Willie Arsenault (Philomene) of Rogersville, and Mrs. Jane Lavoie, Mrs. Lina Doiron, Mrs. Rose Gaudet and Mrs. Kate Gautreau, all of Minto; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A brother, Robert, died previously. The body is at Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Collette, where funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at a time to be announced. Born in Bloomfield, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Evelyn (Buotte) Pitre. A former post master in Minto, Rose was a member of the Les dames de Ste. Anne and the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Minto. Surviving are three sons, Gerard (Irene) of Surrey, B.C., Medric (Mina) of Minto and Lionel (Sharon) of Grimsby, Ontario, two daughters, Lorraine Lynch of Minto and Yvette Norman (Frank) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, three sisters, Emily Lavoie and Lena Doiron (Edmund) both of Minto, and Kate Bastarache of Grand Prairie, Alberta, 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John Gaudet, two sons, Joe and Abel, four brothers, Albert, Robert, William and George, two sisters, Philomene and Hope. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home, Minto, with visiting on Tuesday 7-9 and on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 17, 1996 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Minto, at 11 a.m. Rev. Born in Bloomfield, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Augustine and Evelyn (Buotte) Pitre. He was a retired road commissioner for the Department of Highways. He attended Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Collette. He was a veteran of the First and Second World Wars. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 38 in Rogersville. He is survived by his wife, the former Albina Perry; four daughters, Mrs. Ednee Lavoie and Mrs. Arnold Schuch (Lillian), both of Barrie, Ont., Mrs. Ernest Caissie (Anida) and Mrs. Roger Hachey (Alice), both of Rogersville; three sons, Leonard, Richard and Gerald, all of Collette; five sisters, Mrs. Lina Thibodeau, Mrs. Rose Gaudet and Mrs. Emelie (Jane) Lavoie, all of Minto, Mrs. Esperance Gaudet and Mrs. Philomene Babineau, both of Rogersville; 36 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Emilie was predeceased by her husband William Lavoie; sons, Arthur, Emile; daughter, Eugenie Goguen; grandson, Richard; great granddaughter, Luella Gormley; great grandson, Scott O’Quinn; sisters, Rose, Minnie, Kate, Lena and Mary; brothers, William, George, Albert and Robert.
