Obituary: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 29 September 1984: Collette - Robert Pitre, 89, of Collette died Friday at Foyer Assumption in Rogersville after a lengthy illness. Born in Bloomfield, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Augustine and Evelyn (Buotte) Pitre. He was a retired road commissioner for the Department of Highways. He attended Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Collette. He was a veteran of the First and Second World Wars. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 38 in Rogersville. He is survived by his wife, the former Albina Perry; four daughters, Mrs. Ednee Lavoie and Mrs. Arnold Schuch (Lillian), both of Barrie, Ont., Mrs. Ernest Caissie (Anida) and Mrs. Roger Hachey (Alice), both of Rogersville; three sons, Leonard, Richard and Gerald, all of Collette; five sisters, Mrs. Lina Thibodeau, Mrs. Rose Gaudet and Mrs. Emelie (Jane) Lavoie, all of Minto, Mrs. Esperance Gaudet and Mrs. Philomene Babineau, both of Rogersville; 36 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The body is at the church slumber room in Collette. Funeral mass will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. from Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Adams Funeral Home, Newcastle.

Alvina Pitre, 98, of Collette died Tuesday at the Miramichi Hospital, Newcastle following a brief illness. Born in Pleasant Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Chiasson) Perry. She attended Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Collette and was a member of the Mouvement Des Femmes Cretiennes. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Rogersville Branch 38, Royal Canadian Legion. Her husband, Robert Pitre, died previously. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edmee Lavoie and Mrs. Arnold Schuch (Lillian), both of Barrie, Ont., Mrs. Ernest Caissie (Anida) and Mrs. Roger Hache (Alice), both of Rogersville; three sons, Gerard, Leonard and Richard, all of Collette; a sister, Mrs. Jane Doucett of Chatham; 36 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The body is at Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church where funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. She is survived by 3 children: Gizele (Mike) McCarthy, Louisianne (Scott) MacDonald, both of Fredericton, and Reginald (Doris) Caissie of Rogersville; brothers and sisters: Leonard, Gerald, Lillianne and Alice; 5 grandchildren: Jeffery, Justin, Andrew, Colin and Shannon; 3 great-grandchildren: Eve, Karine and Felix, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Gerald Pitre: 1932-2022 Collette: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Pitre on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Foyer Assomption in Rogersville, at the age of 90. Born in Collette on June 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Robert Pitre and the late Albina Pitre (nee: Perry). Gerald has worked different trades in his life: pipefitter, welder, trucker and with his sawmill. He also owned his own business with his wife. A man of great heart, he has volunteered extensively, notably as a member of the St. John Ambulance Volunteer Brigade, Chairman of the Collette Cemetery Committee and as a member of the Royal Legion Branch 38 of Rogersville (where he served as President for several years). He was an extraordinary father and grandfather; He enjoyed fishing, doing activities with his family and spending a lot of time in his garage. Gerald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eva (Gallant) Pitre; his children: Debbie (Mike Doiron), Renald (Kim), Jean-Louis (Serge), Bobby (Lisa), Marc (Janice) and Michel (Terri); his grandchildren: Luc (Jessica), Chantalle (Shawn), Cheryl Lee (Robert), Joey, Claude, Christopher, Genevieve, Olivia, Ariel, Mia, Alex, Jeremie and Josiane, as well as his two great-grandchildren: Ryland and Kaai. Gerald is also survived by his brother, Leonard; his sisters: Lillian and Alice, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by one son, Joseph Benoit (baby); three brothers: Richard, Gerald (who died in childhood) and Eric and two sisters: Edmee and Anida.
