**Mary A. O'Connor (Peters):  Grammie Peters was a most amazing cook!  I remember as a little girl waking every morning to fresh baked bread and rolls.  She was up at the crack of dawn (or earlier) baking away.  She loved to knit and make quilts.  I still have the last one she ever made! (it's packed away safely because it shows its been well used).  She was still baking away at 97 yrs old.  She passed away at 99, just 4 months before turning 100.   [contributed by great-granddaughter Kerri Arsenault]

John Peter Peters:  The Times Record (Brunswick, ME), Saturday, 17 March 1934:  "The city let my father lie in the Bath hospital and die," sobbed Lucy Peters, daughter of John Peters, 53, of 77 Richardson street, who died at the Bath city hospital Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.  Mr. Peters, a city employee, was severely injured July 8, 1933, when thrown from a raking machine as the horse ran away in the hayfield in the rear of the old city barn on the North Bath road.  Apparently the man, whom his wife says never had a sick day in his life prior to this accident, failed to recover from his injuries.  Two ribs were broken and his spine was injured in that accident.  Two days ago, his wife says he was stricken with paralysis of his legs at the hospital.  A month ago, his daughter Lucy, oldest of the children at home, said she went to the city attorney to see if something could be done for her father, who they knew was critically ill.  Mr. Peters was born in Alberton, P.E.I., May 1, 1880.  He came directly to Bath about 40 years ago and had always lived here.  He worked for the city many years until his accident last July.  He was laid up for several weeks and was then given a foreman's job but after two weeks was again forced to give up work because of his back.  He grew worse and was removed to the hospital a few weeks ago.  Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ronella Putnam of West Peru; Lucy, Catharine and Laura, all of Bath; also three sons, Edward J., Andrew J., and Charles J., all of Bath.  There are two sisters, Mrs. Charles Mullaney of Boston and Mrs. Mary Couture of Brewster, Wash., and two brothers, Maxim Peters of Bath and Patrick Peters of Quincy, Mass.  The funeral will be Tuesday, 8 a.m., in St. Mary's church.
