Marriage Announcement:  L'Impartial (PEI), Thursday, 7 May 1903:  Bath, Me. - Tuesday the 5th of May, Mr. Jean Pitre, son of the late Andre Pitre, took to the altar Miss Auxiline Gallant, daughter of Mr. Charles Gallant, of Abram's Village, PEI.  Mr. Albert Gallant and Miss Lillie Gaudet served as witnesses.  After the nuptial benediction the newlyweds went to the home of the Widow Mrs. Andre Pitre, Richardson Street where there was a reception in the afternoon.

Obituary:  The Times Record (Brunswick, ME), Saturday, 17 March 1934:  "The city let my father lie in the Bath hospital and die," sobbed Lucy Peters, daughter of John Peters, 53, of 77 Richardson street, who died at the Bath city hospital Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.  Mr. Peters, a city employee, was severely injured July 8, 1933, when thrown from a raking machine as the horse ran away in the hayfield in the rear of the old city barn on the North Bath road.  Apparently the man, whom his wife says never had a sick day in his life prior to this accident, failed to recover from his injuries.  Two ribs were broken and his spine was injured in that accident.  Two days ago, his wife says he was stricken with paralysis of his legs at the hospital.  A month ago, his daughter Lucy, oldest of the children at home, said she went to the city attorney to see if something could be done for her father, who they knew was critically ill.  Mr. Peters was born in Alberton, P.E.I., May 1, 1880.  He came directly to Bath about 40 years ago and had always lived here.  He worked for the city many years until his accident last July.  He was laid up for several weeks and was then given a foreman's job but after two weeks was again forced to give up work because of his back.  He grew worse and was removed to the hospital a few weeks ago.  Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ronella Putnam of West Peru; Lucy, Catharine and Laura, all of Bath; also three sons, Edward J., Andrew J., and Charles J., all of Bath.  There are two sisters, Mrs. Charles Mullaney of Boston and Mrs. Mary Couture of Brewster, Wash., and two brothers, Maxim Peters of Bath and Patrick Peters of Quincy, Mass.  The funeral will be Tuesday, 8 a.m., in St. Mary's church.

Obituary:  Portland Press Herald (Portland, ME), Saturday, 12 May 1962:  Kittery - Mrs. Annie Gallant Peters, 81, of 143 Martni Road, died Friday morning at York Hospital.  The widow of John Peters, she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Viola Putman for the past four years.  She formerly resided in Bath.  Mrs. Peters was born June 27, 1880, at Mt. Carmel, Prince Edward Island, daughter of Charles and Phoebe Perry Gallant.  Surviving are three sons, Charles of Kittery, Andrew and Edward of Bath; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Putman and Mrs. Katherine Simones of Waterville; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  The Rev. Raymond Auger will conduct a High Requiem Mass at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael Church.  Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot.

Edward J. Peters:  The Times Record (Brunswick, ME), Thursday, 11 April 1974:  West Bath - Edward J. Peters, 65, of Route 1, died at his home Wednesday afternoon.  He was born at Bath May 11, 1908, a son of John and Annie Plant Peters.  He was educated in Bath schools.  Mr. Peters worked at Bath Iron Works prior to World War II.  He served two and a half years in the U.S. Army and after the war worked as a carpenter for several Bath contractors.  For the past several years he was a lobster fisherman in the New Meadows River area.  Surviving are two brothers, Charles Peters of Harpswell and Andrew Peters of West Bath; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Simone of Waterville and Mrs. Viola Putnam of Kittery.  Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Arthur F. Mayo & Son Funeral Residence.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Friends may visit the funeral home from 7-9 tonight.

Laurence Andrew Peters:  The Times Record (Brunswick, ME), Monday, 12 March 1984:  West Bath - Andrew L. Peters, 73, of Route One, died Sunday, March 11, at the Bath hospital.  He was born Sept. 9, 1910, in Bath, the son of John and Annie Gallant Peters.  He attended St. Mary's school and worked at Bath Iron Works as a welder.  He also worked for Central Maine Power Co.  Mr. Peters served in the Army during World War II.  After the war, he was self-employed as a lobsterman.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  He is survived by a brother, Charles J. Peters of South Harpswell; a sister, Catherine Simone of Skowhegan; and many nieces and nephews.  A funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Arthur F. Mayo and Son Funeral Residence in Bath.  The Rev. R. Michael McGarrigle of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate.  Spring burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral residence.  Parish prayers will be said tonight at 8 p.m. at the funeral residence.

 

Mary Elizabeth Lucille Peters:  Portland Press Herald (Portland, ME), Monday, 3 August 1959:  Kittery - Mrs. Lucy Quintero, 47, of Martin Rd., died Saturday evening at a Portsmouth hospital.  A native of Bath, she was born Jan. 11, 1912, daughter of John and Annie Gallant Peters.  She had resided here the past year.  She was a communicant of St. Raphael's Church.  Survivors include her mother, of Bath; a son, Paul A. Quintero, stationed in Japan with the Air Force; three brothers, Edward and Andrew, both of Bath, and Charles Quintero of Buzzard's Bay, Mass.; and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Putnam of Kittery and Mrs. Katherine Simmones of Waterville.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. from the Franklin G. Wilson Funeral Home, followed by High Mass of Requiem at 8 a.m., from St. Raphael's Church.  Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot.

Laura Mary Peters:  The Times Record (Brunswick, ME), Thursday, 23 April 1942:  Mrs. Laura Peters Bertone, 24, wife of Joseph Bertone, and a daughter of Mrs. Annie Peters of this city, and the late John Peters, died Tuesday afternoon in Franklin, Mass., where she has resided the last six years, after a short illness.  Mrs. Bertone was born in Bath May 11, 1917, and attended the schools in this city.  She is survived by her husband, by two children, Nancy Anne, and Constance Marie, of Franklin; by her mother, Mrs. Annie Peters of Bath; by three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Quintero, Mrs. Frank Borski, and Mrs. Viola Putnam, all of Bath; and by three brothers, Andrew, Charles and Edward, all of Bath.  The funeral will be Friday morning at eight in the Catholic church in Franklin, Mass.
