(Peters) Robbins, 83, of Braintree, a secretary and bookkeeper, died Friday at home. Mrs. Robbins worked for Grossman's store in Braintree and other businesses. She was an active member of Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree. She was a member of the Southeastern Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in many of its performances. Mrs. Robbins was past treasurer of the Weymouth Town Scholarship Committee, an active volunteer for the Weymouth Food Pantry; and volunteer at Building 19 in Hingham to benefit various charities. She was a member of the Daughters of Scotia in Quincy. Born in Quincy, she lived in Weymouth for many years before moving to Braintree six years ago. She graduated from Weymouth High School and Fisher Business College in Boston. Wife of the late John Harold Robbins, she is survived by two daughters, Paula J. Nelson of Braintree and Gail L. Kimball of Bloomington, Ind.; two brothers, Andrew L. Peters of Columbia, S.C., and John D. Peters of Braintree; a sister, Norma Cariglia of Hanover; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Union Congregational Church, East Braintree. The Rev. Earl E. Alger, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Weymouth Landing. Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mortimor N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, Braintree. Andrew Lawrence Peters: The Patriot Ledger (Quincy, MA), Thursday, 23 June 2016: Lexington, S.C. - Rev. Andrew Peters died in Lexington, S.C., June 15, 2016, at age 96. His first church was in Gonic, N.H. He also pastored Immanuel Baptist Church in Brockton, Mass., and Immanuel Bible Church in Rumney, N.H. Pastor Peters graduated from Gordon College. He was the son of the late John and Arabella Peters of Weymouth, Mass.; and had six siblings, the late Virginia Robbins, Hugh Peters, Marjorie Turner, Eugene Peters, John Peters, and Norma Cariglia. His beloved wife, Marjorie Roberts Peters, preceded him in 1989. He is survived by his sister, Norma Cariglia of Hanover, Mass.; a daughter, Deborah Mayhew of Biarritz, France; and a son, Paul Peters of Lexington, S.C. Surviving him also are four grandchildren, Marjorie Ruth Peters, Michael Andrew Aiguier, Christen Aiguier, and Stacia Barrington; four great-grandchildren, Felicia Barrington, Jacob Barrington, Samantha Aiguier, and Joseph Aiguier; and one great-great-grandchild, Kaliana Huppe. A memorial service will be at the Union Congregational Church, Wollaston, Mass., Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m. Burial will be at the Village Cemetery in Weymouth, Mass., next to his wife.
John D. Peters: The Patriot Ledger (Quincy, MA), Wednesday, 1 July 2015: Braintree - John D. Peters Sr., of Braintree, age 93, passed away comfortably at home Saturday, June 27, 2015. He was born in Weymouth, educated in Quincy, one of ten children born to John P. Peters and Arabella (MacKenzie). Entering the Army at 22 as an Aerial Photographer. He did exhibition boxing and went 32 for 32, with an unofficial round out between the tents against the world light middle weight champion, Willie Pepp. On D-Day he landed on Omaha Beach amid hail of bullets, and fought his way across the country to liberate France. He was then stationed in East Germany for the last seven months of the World War. He returned to his father house on Phillips Street in Weymouth and was awarded 5 Bronze Stars. He married Roberta MacLean in 1951, moved into a trailer in Braintree on land he bought from his grandmother Effie MacKenzie and built his own house. He began working as a laborer for FX Messina and contributed his talents as a mason to many historical buildings. Working as many as three jobs at a time to support 10 children. He also works at General Dynamics Shipyard as an X-Ray Technician, when work tapered off there; he took job nights for Raytheon Corp. Other positions at Old Colony Landscaping, Day Security for the new Braintree High School, and retired from Polaroid Corporation in 1985. He spent his entire life loving and caring and providing for his children and his wife, Roberta for 64 years. John is predeceased by two children: Jethro and Jayne. He is survived by his loving wife and his children: John Jr., Jeanne, James, Joanne, Joe, Jerry, Jeffrey, Jesse, and his grandchildren Cathy and Joe Peters of Quincy; Skyla Eaton of Braintree; Mark, Beth, and Destiny Peters of Weymouth and Joe and Jenna Peters of Newton, N.H. and 3 great-grandchildren. Burial will be private at the Veteran's National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass. and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Central Baptist Church, Quincy Center. Donations in memory of John may be sent to Interfaith Social Services.

(Peters) Turner, 70, of Weymouth, a former housekeeper at the Colonial Nursing Home, died Friday at home. Mrs. Turner worked at Colonial Nursing Home for 14 years. She retired in 1992. She also visited elderly people at their homes to help them cook and clean. She enjoyed camping, traveling, drawing and painting, and loved Nantasket Beach. Mrs. Turner was born in New London, Conn., and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1944. Wife of the late Charles H. Turner, she is survived by a son, Charles C. Turner of Mattapan; four daughters, Claire Turner of Lansing, Mich., Marion Farina of Tolland, Conn., Carol Turner of Ouray, Colo., and June Turner Rose of Braintree; two brothers, the Rev. Andrew Peters of South Carolina and John Peters of Braintree; two sisters, Virginia Robbins of Braintree and Norma Cariglia of Hanover; and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home. Mrs. Turner's brother, the Rev. Andrew Peters, will officiate. Burial will be in Village Cemetery. Visiting is from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
