Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet, Monday, 17 June 1985: Funeral services were scheduled from Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano at 2:30 p.m. today for Arnold Joseph Pitre, 86, a native and resident of Galliano, who died in Raceland Saturday (15th) at 12:30 p.m. He was the husband of Sedonia Williams Pitre; father of James Pitre, Joseph Pitre, Hazel Hunter and Nevitte Doucet; brother of Pierre Pitre Jr., Mrs. Lodgar Duet, Rose Terrebonne and Mrs. Azeme Duet. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Tarro Pitre Sr. Religious services were scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Interment will be in Williams Cemetery. Falgout Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Comet: Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady
of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow for Sydonia Pitre, 85, a native
and resident of Golden Meadow, who died Monday (23 April 1990) at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation is today at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano from 2 p.m. until 10
p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until funeral time. Interment is in
Williams Cemetery in Golden Meadow. She was the mother of James and
Joseph Pitre and Hazel Hunter and Nevitte Doucet; sister of Alcide
and Fred Williams and Lizzie Mae Labue. She is also survived by 19
grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Pitre; parents, Charlie
and Liza Duet Williams; a son, Tarro Pitre; three brothers, Gus,
Walter and Norman Williams; and three sisters, Pauline Bernard, Elnora
Turnage and Sister Josephine W. Falgout Funeral Homes, Galliano, is in
charge of arrangements.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday from the lodge, with religious services following, 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Golden Meadow. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery. Mr. Pitre was a member of the Rose Croix of New Orleans and the William D. White Lodge No. 4_2 F&AM of Gretna. Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Toups Pitre; his parents, Arnold and Sydonia Williams Pitre; two sons, Terre Jr. and Thomas Pitre; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Tiny) Calder; two brothers, James and Joseph Pitre; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Hunter and Mrs. Nivette Doucet; and five grandchildren. James Anthony Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 2 January 2006: James Anthony Pitre, 80, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died at 5:10 p.m. Dec. 31, 2005. Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at the church mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Marie Lefort Pitre; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Zena Allemand Pitre; daughters Patricia and Susan Pitre and her fiance Michael Edwards; brother Joseph P. Pitre Sr.; sisters Hazel P. Hunter, Nevitte Doucet; and grandson Jory Pitre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Sidonia Williams Pitre; and brother Tarro Pitre Sr. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Lafourche Texaco Retiree Club, Nicholls Colonels Club and VFW Post 8538 of Larose. He liked to travel and spend time with his family. Donations to charity are preferred. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Nevitte Pitre: Nevitte Pitre Doucet, 87, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Larose passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off on Thursday, November 5th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Glenn (Eva) Doucet, Rachel D. Bourg; Richard (Robin) Doucet, Jr. and Derek (Samantha) Doucet; daughter-in-law, Nesie Doucet; sister-in-law, Janice Doucet; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one on the way, 1 great-great-grandchild and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard “Jay” Doucet, Sr.; parents, Arnold and Sedonia Pitre; children, Patrick Doucet and Phyllis Foret; brothers, Tarro Pitre, Jim Pitre and Joe Pitre; sister, Hazel Pitre Hunter; sons-in-law, Leslie Bourg, Sr. and Brian Foret. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and shopping. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her family is left with many memories of the many family gatherings that she enjoyed so much.
