Obituary: Houma Courier (LA), Monday, 1 September 1980: Tarro Joseph Pitre, 57, died 13:30 p.m. Sunday (31 August 1980) at New Orleans. Visitation is continuing until funeral time at the Lafourche Lodge No. 427 F&AM in Galliano. The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday from the lodge, with religious services following, 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Golden Meadow. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery. Mr. Pitre was a member of the Rose Croix of New Orleans and the William D. White Lodge No. 4_2 F&AM of Gretna. Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Toups Pitre; his parents, Arnold and Sydonia Williams Pitre; two sons, Terre Jr. and Thomas Pitre; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Tiny) Calder; two brothers, James and Joseph Pitre; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Hunter and Mrs. Nivette Doucet; and five grandchildren. Thibodaux Funeral Home, Cut Off, is handling arrangements.

Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Thursday, 22 December 1983: Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Falgout Funeral Home, Galliano, for Anna Mae Toups Pitre, 59, a native of Lockport and resident of Jefferson, La., who died at 12:10 p.m. Wednsday (21st) at Metairie. Religious services have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Golden Meadow, with interment in Williams Cemetery, Golden Meadow. Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today and from 7-10 a.m. Friday. She was the wife of the late Tarro Pitre Sr.; mother of Torro Jr. and Thomas Pitre, Tiny Calder; sister of Waldon, Lester, Jules, George and John Toups, Winnie Pitre and Elsie Bird; daughter of Edmund Toups and Maude Jeandron Toups. She is survived by six grandchildren. Arrangements by Falgout.

Thomas James Pitre: Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home (LA): Thomas James Pitre, December 21, 1958 - August 27, 2018: Thomas James Pitre was called home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2018 at the age of 59. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Susie Chabert Pitre; and children Alicia Hebert, Toni Hebert and Joseph Hebert (Caryl). Adored grandfather to Taylor Hebert, Anthony Hearod, Garrett, Christopher and Haley Hebert. Brother to Tarro Pitre (late Robelyn) and beloved sister Tiny Pitre Calder (Joe). Cherished uncle to Dwain, Darren and Damion Pitre, Doyel Calder and Dawn Calder Furlow (Robbie). He is preceded in death by his father, Tarro Pitre Sr, his mother Anna Mae Toups Pitre, and nephew Daniel Pitre. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Jefferson. He was known loving to many as, “T”, “Big T”, or “Brother T”. He was a devoted member of “The Center of Jesus the Lord”. He was passionately involved in the homeless ministry, ”Our Father’s Table”. He was a member of the Beginning Experience Ministry and men’s prayer group, “Men of Steel”. He worked as a professional plumber and skilled maintenance worker at Laitram for several years. He was very generous with his time helping friends, family and neighbors with various project. He enjoyed traveling, skiing, fishing and eating out as often as he could. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and doctors at the “Transplant Center” of the Houston Methodist Hospital for their kindness and compassion during his illness. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Family, friends and friends of Bill W. are invited to the visitation held at the Center of Jesus the Lord at Our Lady of Good Counsel, New Orleans on Friday, September 7th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 11:00 AM preceded by visitation from 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM. Burial to follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, La.
