Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 2 May 1960:  Alexander J. Petrie - Orono, May 1 - Alexander (Alec) James Petrie, 68, husband of Claudia Petrie, died Sunday morning in Baltimore, Md.  He was born in Orono January 16, 1892, the son of Theodore and Georgianna (Turcott) Petrie.  A painter and paper hanger by trade, he was formerly employed at Orono, Bar Harbor and Harvard University.  He had resided in Baltimore the past six years.  Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Theodore of New York and Raymond of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Stella Siracusa of Orono; and seven grandchildren.  A High Mass of Requiem will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Orono.  Friends may call at the LaBeau Funeral Home, 9 Pine Street, Orono, Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 19 December 1927:  Orono, Dec. 18 - The death of Mrs. Alexander Petrie shocked her many friends in town.  She passed away on Saturday morning, Dec. 17, at the Bar Harbor hospital where she went for treatment a few days before.  She was 31 years old the day she died.  She was married in Orono and moved to Bar Harbor last spring.  Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, her father, who lives in North Cambridge, Mass., six sisters and four brothers, who have the sympathy of many friends.  The remains have been brought to the home of Mr. Petrie's mother, Mrs. Georgia Petrie on Water street.  The funeral will be held at St. Mary church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock.

Theodore Edward Petrie:  Houston Chronicle (TX), Thursday, 13 October 2005:  Beulah 'Gay' Petrie, and Theodore 'Ted' Petrie, passed away on October 6, 2005 and September 21, 2005.  Beulah was a homemaker and Ted was a retired civil servant for the department of the army and a first sergeant in the National Guard.  She was preceded in death by her son Jack Dye and her brother Ray Hall.  He was preceded in death by his brother Bob Petrie.  Beulah is survived by her brothers Shirl and Hubert Hall, son Bill Dye and his wife Carol, daughter-in-law Jean Bell, granddaughters Gaylynne Pardon, Mary Dye, and Cathy Dye; grandsons Jackie Dye, John Dye and domestic partner Dan Lindquist and various great-grandchildren including Michael and Ashlee Greak.  Ted is survived by his daughter Paula Jones and grandchildren Alex, Andrew, and Allison Cheshire and various nephews and nieces including James Petrie.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13 from four o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening with a funeral service at 6 o'clock at the Bradshaw-Carter home, Houston, Texas.  Friends are cordially invited to a graveside service with full military honors on Friday at two o'clock in the afternoon at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

Raymond Clarence Petrie:  New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung (New Braunfels, TX), Sunday, 11 May 1997:  Raymond C. Petrie died on Friday, May 9, 1997, at the age of 73 years.  Mr. Petrie was born December 20, 1923 in Orono, Maine to James Alexander Petrie and Emma Mary LeBlanc.  He married Agnes Petrie on December 29, 1947 in Arlington, Virginia.  Mr. Petrie was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Franklin aircraft carrier.  He was a New Braunfels resident for 15 years and had been a postmaster.  Mr. Petrie attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a member of American Legion Post No. 0179, Disabled Veterans No. 163, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7110, Knights of Columbus No. 4183 and HAM Radio Operator No. KB5GST.  He loved music and was a musician himself.  Mr. Petrie is survived by his wife, Agnes Petrie of New Braunfels; children, Joseph Raymond Petrie, Los Angeles, Ca, James Patrick Petrie and wife Cathy of New Braunfels, John Gerard Petrie and wife Julie of Baytown, TX, Agnes Ann Hejtmanek and husband Frank of Pasadena, TX, Rosemary Therese Gray and husband Mitchel of Cedar Hill, TX, Matthew Paul Petrie and wife Nanette of Grapevine, TX, and Alexis Marie Bagby and husband Roy of Virginia Beach, VA; seventeen grandchildren; one brother, Ted Petrie of Angleton, TX; and one sister-in-law, Sister M. Matthew, RSM of Brookhaven, MS.  Visitation will begin today at 5 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m. Monday.  The family will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home to greet visitors today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  A rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Chapel.  The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, May 13 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Eugene O'Callaghan officiating.  Interment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Sts. Peter and Paul Building Fund or to Hospice New Braunfels.
