- 1752 census: Ile Royale (Cape Breton Island): Louis Dantin, native of Paris, 50 years of age, married to Marguerite La Sonde, native of Saint Pierre, 36 years of age. They have 4 boys and one girl: Gabriel Dantin, aged 10 years, Louis Dantin, aged 7 years; Barthélemy, aged 4 years; Joseph Dantin, aged 2 years; Jeanne Dantin, aged 9 years. Their home is built on the land of Marc la Sonde, their father.
- In the autumn of 1758, they were deported to France on "La Reine d'Espagne." Only the boys Louis and Barthelemy survived the crossing. They disembarked at St. Malo on 17 November 1758. Barthelemy lived in St. Tual 1758-61 and St. Malo 1761-66. On 22 May 1766 Barthelemy was given permission and passage to go to Le Havre to embark on the ship La Tamire which was going to Guinea. According to the declaration of Mr. Thomas Domet, captain, Barthelemy died in Guinea.
