Notes for Johann Adam Heidel:

- On the 14 November 1720 list of families aboard Les Deux Freres, at Lorient, France is found Ambroize Aidle, Mathieu, his son; Barbe, his daughter; and Catherine his other daughter.  (Ambroise is actually the brother of Mathieu, Barbe and Catherine.)  For some unexplained reason the mother of Ambroise Heidel was separated from her children as she is listed as having embarked on the Charente.  Perhaps the reason for the separation is that Johann Adam Heidel was ill and unable to board Les Deux Freres with his children.  Or, it is possible that he was originally on board and had to disembark, which would explain why Ambroise is listed as the head of the household and the father. His father probably died at Lorient and Ambroise's mother arrived alone in Louisiana aboard the Charente.
