- Among the workers for the John Law concession who embarked on 10 June 1720 on the ship La Profund, commanded by M. Du Gerneur, bound for Louisiana from La Rochelle, were Charles Picou, Jeanne Poupon, his wife, and Urbain Picou, his son.  Also included among the passengers were Francois Genouy and Catherine Picou, who were the son-in-law and daughter of Charles Picou and Jeanne Poupon.  The town of origin of the family was referenced in Louisiana documentation to be Brest, in the present day department of Finistere, France.   [German Coast Families, European Origins and Settlement in Colonial Louisiana; Robichaux]
