Notes for Charles Leblanc:

- Charles Leblanc was born in 1734 in the Mines area of Acadia, near Port Royal.  About 1758 he married Anne Benoist and on 16 January 1759 Charles Leblanc and Anne disembarked at St. Malo from Le Tamerlan.  They settled in Chateauneuf where two years later Anne gave birth to a son Charles, but she then died a few days later.  Charles and his baby son moved on to St. Servan where he then married young Rosalie Trahan in 1763.  They had 6 children over the next dozen years and on 7 December 1775 Charles, wife Rosalie, Charles now 14, along with his half-siblings Marie 12, Pierre 10, Andre 9, Francoise 7, and Barbe 3 were in the Third Convoy leaving Chatellerault for Nantes.  Ten years and 5 children later (4 of whom died as infants), the family boarded Le Saint Remi on 27 June 1785 and arrived in LA on 10 September 1785, listed as Charles Leblanc day laborer 52, wife Rosalie Trahan 40, Marie Rose 21, Pierre Honore carpenter 19, Andre day laborer 18, Marie Francoise 16, Barbe 12, and Jean Baptiste nursling.  They settled in the Lafourche area and farmed a 6 arpent tract, eventually acquiring 8 cattle, a horse and 6 swine.
