Second wife Anne Coudray was born in Plouanne, St. Malo, Brittany, France, and died 2 October 1776 in New Orleans, LA.  They were married 11 July 1730 at St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans, LA.

- January 1770 census (below city): Habitation belonging to his widowed mother - Louis 35, Marie Anne 18, Jean Louis 4, Jean Baptiste 2.

- 1796 - Resident in St. Gabriel, Iberville

- Madame Leonard, widow of Louis Leonard, claims a tract of land, situate on the river Mississsippi, in the county of Iberville, containing six and 1/2 arpents front and 80 arpents in depth, and bounded on one side by land of Francis Marion, and on the other by land of Philip Roth.  The claimant having inhabited and cultivated the first depth of 40 acres of the land claimed on the 20th December, 1803, and for 10 consecutive years prior to that period, the Board confirmed the claim to that extent, and she having been put in possession of the second depth by the Surveyor General, in the year 1801, by order of the Intendant, it is the opinion of the Board that, according to the usages and customs of the Spanish Government, the claim to the second depth ought to be confirmed; provided it be considered by the Government of the United States that the Intendant General had a right to dispose of public lands subsequent to the 1st day of October, 1800.  [First Settlers of the LA Territory, Vol. 2]

- 9 December 1721:  List of company workers who are actually in Louisiana:  Listed as gardeners - Jean Baptiste Leonard - good and Jean Leonard - passable

- January 1770 census (below New Orleans):  Habitation belonging to his widowed mother, Louis Leonard 35, Marie Anne 18, Jean Louis 4, Jean Baptiste 2.

- Note: There was a Jean Baptiste Leonard, ship carpenter, buried 10 March 1757 (Pointe Coupee records)

 

Notes for Anne Coudray:

- 20 August 1720: workers for the Ste. Catherine concession embarked on the ship of the company of the Indies The Loire bound for LA from Lorient: Pierre Coudray cooper; Anne Coudray spinner.

- First husband Julien Chartier was born (unknown), and died 28 November 1729 in the Indian massacre at Natchez, LA.  They were married (unknown).
