Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 12 June 1924:  William J. Lashomb died Monday morning at 2:00 o’clock in the Hepburn hospital, Ogdensburg, where he had been a patient for several weeks, aged 36 years, seven months and 23 days.  Death followed a series of operations.  He was born in Massena, November 16, 1887, son of Henry and Ida Demo Lashomb, all his life being spent here.  During the World war he served for 15 months at Camp Devens, Mass.  His marriage to Miss Grace Empey, of Chase Mills, took place at Louisville, June 30, 1906.  She died eight years ago.  Surviving are three children, May, 14, Albert, 12, and Dorothy 10; his father, Henry Lashomb; and one sister, Mrs. George McEwan, all of Massena.  The body was taken to the home of his sister, 83 Main street, from where funeral services were held at 9:00 o’clock Wednesday morning and a half hour later from Sacred Heart church.  Arrangements were in charge of the Massena Post of the American Legion, which furnished an escort from the house to the church and from the church to Calvary cemetery, where burial was made.  The bearers were members of the Legion.

Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday 18 May 1916:  Mrs. William Lashomb died Sunday afternoon about 2:00 o’clock, at her home in Louisville after an illness of about a year of tuberculosis.  The funeral was held Wednesday morning at Chase Mills, Rev. F. A. Miller, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church at Massena officiating.  Burial in Chase Mills cemetery.  Grace Empey was born twenty-eight years ago at Chase Mills, a daughter of Albert Empey.  About 10 years ago she married William Lashomb and since then they have made their home in Louisville.  Besides her husband, she is survived by three small children, two sisters, Ida, who has been caring for her sister, and Lena, of Massena, and two brothers, Robert Empey, of Chase Mills, and Charles, of the Ogdensburg hospital.

- Madrid Herald (NY), 25 May 1916:  Grace Empey, wife of William Lashomb, died at her home at Massena, Sunday, May 14, 1916.  She had been in failing health for the past few months with consumption.  She is survived by her husband and three children, namely: Ida Mae, Dorothy Elizabeth and Albert Henry; also by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Empey, and by the following sisters and brothers: Ida, Lena, Mary and Hobart Empey of Chase Mills.  The funeral was held from the M.E. church at Chase Mills on Wednesday.  Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in their affliction.

Ida May Lashomb:  Massena Daily Courier Observer (NY), Saturday, 27 February 1993:  Massena - Funeral services for Ida Mae Cameron, 83, of South Racket River Road, Box 137, Massena, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Massena, with the Rev. Edward J. Wright officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena.  Friends may call Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.  Mrs. Cameron died Friday (Feb. 26, 1993) at Massena Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Thursday.  She is survived by her husband, A. Daniel Cameron; two daughters, Jean Cameron at home, and Mrs. Roger (Florence) Bennett of Massena; five sons, Alexander at home, William of Vestal, Robert, Thomas and John Cameron, all of Massena; 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Switzer of Oregon.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Margaret Boak Hazelton in 1988; and two sons, Paul in 1943 and James in 1990.  Mrs. Cameron was born Sept. 3, 1909 in Massena, the daughter of William and Grace (Empey) LaShomb.  She was educated in Massena schools.  She married Alexander Daniel Cameron on Jan. 21,1927 in Corn- wall, Ont.  Mrs. Cameron was an avid bingo player and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund or the Massena Rescue Squad.

Albert Henry Lashomb:  Courier & Freeman (Potsdam, NY), Tuesday, 25 April 1978:  Potsdam - Funeral services for Albert H. LaShomb, 66, of Madrid Avenue, Potsdam, were held Sunday, April 23, 1978, at Garner Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Robinson, United Methodist Church of Potsdam, officiating.  Burial was in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam.  Mr. LaShomb was pronounced dead at Potsdam Hospital Friday (April 21, 1978).  Surviving are his widow, Dorothy; a son, Gary, Potsdam; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Raymo of Potsdam and Mrs. Henry (Barbara) Stone of Norwood; two sisters, Mrs. Daniel (Mae) Cameron, Massena, and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Moellerman of Salem, Ore.  Mr. LaShomb was bom Jan. 24, 1912, in Massena, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry LaShomb.  He attended Massena Schools and worked as a laborer for Sheehan Bros. Construction and the Alcoa Plant in Massena.  He married Dorothy F. Pike on Nov. 12, 1935 in Massena.  They made their home in Potsdam for the past 36 years.

Dorothy Elizabeth Lashomb:  Statesman Journal (OR), 13 October 2010: Salem - Dorothy E. Switzer passed away on Oct. 8, 2010, at Lancaster Village.  Dorothy was born April 4, 1914, in Louisville, New York, to William and Grace LaShomb.  She was educated in Massena, New York, and received nurse's training in New York State.  She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 40 years in New York and California until moving to Salem in 1975.  Dorothy was an active member of the Methodist Church in Massena and her membership remains in Tracy, California.  She attended the Lutheran Brethren Church in Salem.  Her hobbies included handwork and travel.  Her husband, Ernest Clarence Sherwood, preceded her in death in 1955.  She then married Harold A. Moellerman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1984.  She married Victor H. Switzer on June 3, 1989.  He preceded her in death on June 2, 2000.  Dorothy is survived by her son, Kenneth R. Sherwood of Laredo, Texas; grandsons, Robert and Richard Sherwood; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.  Private crypt entombment will be at Mt. Crest Abbey Mausoleum, Salem.
