Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Friday, 1 November 1929:  Massena, Nov. 1 - Henry Edward LaShomb, 68, Grove street, died at his home at midnight Wednesday after an illness of pneumonia.  He was born Nov. 16, 1861 in the town of Brasher and had resided in the vicinity his entire life, being a stone-mason by trade.  He is the son of Edward and Mary Lacomb LaShomb.  On Sept. 13, 1882 he married Miss Ida Demo, Massena, who died eight years ago.  A year later he married Delia Hurteau of Cornell who died a year after.  He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George McEwan of North Main street; one brother, Mitchell of Massena and two sisters, Mrs. Prosper Compo of Brasher and Mrs. Maria Raymo of Liverpool, N.Y.  Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 at the Sacred Heart church with Rev. Timothy P. Holland officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

- Massena Observer, Thursday, 7 November 1929:  Ill only a few days with a cold that developed into pneumonia, Henry Edward LaShomb, 67 years old, died at his home on Grove street about midnight Wednesday of last week.  Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning and burial was made in Calvary cemetery.  Mr. LaShomb was born in the town of Brasher, a son of Edward and Mary Lacomb LaShomb.  He has always lived in this vicinity.  He married Miss Ida Demo, of this village, on September 13, 1862, she dying eight years ago.  About seven years ago, he married Delia Hurteau, of Cornwall, Ont., and she died a year later.  Surviving are the one daughter, Mrs. George McEwan, 10 East Orvis street; one brother, Michael LaShomb, of this town, and two sisters, Mrs. Prosper Compo, Brasher Falls, and Mrs. Maria Raymo, Liverpool.  Mr. LaShomb was a stone mason by trade.

Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 2 August 1923:  Mrs. Henry LashombMrs. Delia Amo Lashomb, 71, wife of Henry Lashomb, of South Main street, died Sunday evening at 11:30 o'clock of pleurisy and rheumatism of the heart.  More than two months ago she suffered an attack of the grip from which she never completely recovered.  She was born near here, living in this vicinity until her marriage to Frank Hurteau when they moved to Cornwall, Ont., living there for 50 years.  Mr. Hurteau died about two years ago and later she returned to Massena, where about a year ago she became the wife of Mr. Lashomb.  Surviving, besides her husband, are one daughter, Mrs. G.L. Major, of Ottawa; two sons, Leo Hurteau of Massena and Napoleon Hurteau, of Ottawa; one brother, John Amo, of the town of Norfolk; and one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Jacobs, of Hogansburg.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, from where the funeral was held Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock, with burial at Calvary cemetery.

Cora Lashomb:  Norwood News (NY):  Died: In Massena, N. Y., October 4th. 1894.  Cora Ann Lashamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lashamb, aged 11 years.

 

Mary Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 28 March 1963:  Mrs. Mary LaShomb McEwan, 78, lifelong resident of Massena, died at 11:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, Mar. 26, 1963, at the Massena Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for the past year and a half.  Mrs. McEwan was born in Massena Sept. 28, 1885, a daughter of Henry and Ida Demo LaShomb.  She was educated in the public schools and was married to George McEwan on Jan. 19, 1915.  They were married in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kirkbride by the Rev. B. A. Arnold, then rector of St. John's Episcopal Church.  Mr. and Mrs. McEwan lived their entire married life at 10 E. Orvis St., which was the small house on E. Orvis, adjoining the Kirkbride property, all of which is now the site of Grant's Store.  Both houses were razed at the time the property was sold for commercial use.  Mr. McEwan operated the livery barns, located on the site of the present Andrews St. parking lot, worked in White's Hotel for a time, and later for the St. Lawrence River Power Company.  He died July 2, 1934.  Surviving are two nieces and one nephew, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Moellerman and Mrs. Daniel (Ida Mae) Cameron, Massena, and Albert LaShomb, Massena.  Friends may call at the Phillips Memorial Home this afternoon and evening. F uneral services will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at the funeral home.  The Rev. Michael Lynch, rector of St. John's Church, will conduct the services.  Burial will be Made in Pine Grove Cemetery.

William Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 12 June 1924:  William J. Lashomb died Monday morning at 2:00 o’clock in the Hepburn hospital, Ogdensburg, where he had been a patient for several weeks, aged 36 years, seven months and 23 days.  Death followed a series of operations.  He was born in Massena, November 16, 1887, son of Henry and Ida Demo Lashomb, all his life being spent here.  During the World war he served for 15 months at Camp Devens, Mass.  His marriage to Miss Grace Empey, of Chase Mills, took place at Louisville, June 30, 1906.  She died eight years ago.  Surviving are three children, May, 14, Albert, 12, and Dorothy 10; his father, Henry Lashomb; and one sister, Mrs. George McEwan, all of Massena.  The body was taken to the home of his sister, 83 Main street, from where funeral services were held at 9:00 o’clock Wednesday morning and a half hour later from Sacred Heart church.  Arrangements were in charge of the Massena Post of the American Legion, which furnished an escort from the house to the church and from the church to Calvary cemetery, where burial was made.  The bearers were members of the Legion.
