Joseph William Leon Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 5 September 1972: Bathurst - The death of Joseph W. Pitre of St. Anne's occurred Sunday in hospital in Campbellton after an illness of two years. He was 77. Born in South Tetagouche he was a son of the late William and Maggie Pitre. He was a woodsworker and served in the Royal Canadian Army during the First World War. He was a member of Herman J. Good VC Branch No. 18, Royal Canadian Legion. He moved to St. Anne's from South Tetagouche about six years ago. His wife, the former Francis Roy died about 30 years ago. Surviving are six sons, John of South Tetagouche, Gordon and Leon of St. Anne's, Cyprien of Bathurst, Bernard of Big River and William of Ontario; four daughters, Mrs. Fred Chamberlain (Florence) of South Tetagouche, Mrs. John Brennan (Gladys) of St. Anne's, Mrs. Xavier LeClair (Leona) of Allardville and Mabel of Montreal; one brother, Michael of St. Anne's; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Legacy (Margaret) of Big River and 25 grandchildren. The body will rest at Elhatton's funeral home with funeral mass to be celebrated Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Jacques Israel Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 27 May 1966: Bathurst - The death of Israel Pitre of St. Anne occurred Thursday morning at the Hotel Dieu following a lengthy illness. He was born in South Tetagouche. He was a son of the late William and Margaret (Kenneth) Pitre and was a life-long resident of the community. He had been employed with LaPerrelle Lumber Company Ltd. and was also a farmer. Surviving besides his wife, the former Celina Legacy are two sons, Gerald and Lionel, both at home; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Blanchard (Macrina) and Mrs. Leonard Doucet (Albina) both of Ste. Anne and Miss Evelyn Pitre at home; two brothers, Joseph and Michael, both of St. Anne; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Legacy (Margaret) Bathurst, and 12 grandchildren. The body was taken from Elhatton's funeral home and will rest at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lionel Doucet, with whom he resided. The funeral service will be held at Holy Family Church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial in the parish cemetery.
Alexander Michael Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Monday, 8 September 1975: Bathurst - The death of Michael W. Pitre of St. Anne occurred Saturday at his home following a sudden seizure. He was 72. Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late William and Marguerite (Kennedy) Pitre. He was engaged in farming in his earlier years and spent his entire life in the South Tetagouche-St. Anne area. He is survived by his wife, the former Priscilla Gauthier; a son, Andrew of Bathurst; three daughters, Mrs. Urbain Daigle (Yvonne), Mrs. Harvey Smith (Cecile), and Mrs. Paul Laurette (Stella), all of St. Anne; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Legacy (Maggie), Bathurst and 21 grandchildren. The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Mary Magdalene Roman Catholic Church in South Tetagouche to be followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
