Dorothy Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Wednesday, 22 November 1978:  Bathurst - The death of Mrs. Dorothy Gauthier of 831 Rogers Street, wife of Aldon Gauthier, occurred Monday at Chaleur General Hospital after a long illness.  She was 48.  Born in West Bathurst, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Isabella (Young) Pitre.  She always resided in this area.  She is survived by her husband, five sons, Lawrence and Chesley, both of Bathurst; Edward and twins Raymond and Ronald, all at home; eight daughters, Mrs. Donald Pitre (Macrina), Mrs. Leandre Legacy (Dianne) and Evangeline, all of Chamberlain Settlement; Mrs. Pierre Boudreau (Jeannette) and Yvette, Beresford; Mrs. Edmond Lacroix (Patsy), Bathurst; Monique and Juliette, both at home; two brothers, Lawrence Pitre, Bathurst and Leo Pitre, Big River; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Daley (Mary), Mrs. Daniel Christie (Gertrude), and Mrs. Sylvie Guignard (Ella), all of Bathurst; one stepsister, Edna of Halifax, N.S., and 14 grandchildren.  The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church to be followed by interment in the parish cemetery.

 

Lawrence Pitre:  Elhatton's Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB):  Bathurst - Lawrence Pitre, 78, of Tower Hill Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (October 29, 2012) at his residence.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was the son of the late Henry and Isabelle (Young) Pitre.  He worked for Kenny's Trucking for 26 years.  He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Lavigne) Pitre.  Three sons: Gordie (Jane) of Hinton, AB, Randy (Liette) of Campbellton and Jody (Bonnie) of Penhold, Alta.  Five grandchildren: Samantha, Connor, Matheson, Tanya and Trusta; six great-grandchildren.  Two sisters: Mary Daley (Robert) and Gertrude Christie, both of Bathurst; many nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by a brother, Leo; two sisters: Dorothy and Ella.  There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning (November 3, 2012) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Lawrence may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the New Brunswick Lung Association or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton' s Funeral Home, Bathurst.

 

Joseph Leon Pitre:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Monday, 14 May 1979:  Bathurst - Leo Pitre, 43, of the Brunswick Mines Road, is dead as the result of a canoe accident Saturday morning.  Two others, Michel Hachey and George Chaisson of Bathurst, reached shore safely.  The three men were at Nepisiguit, at the lower lake of the Portage Lakes chain, commonly known as Screen Lake.  The three men were fishing in a canoe when it capsized and Pitre disappeared.  The other two men held onto the side of the canoe until they received assistance from local sports fishermen who were nearby and witnessed the incident.  The body was recovered about 30 minutes later and brought to the Chaleur General Hospital, Bathurst, where Pitre was pronounced dead on arrival.  Gloucester County Coroner Donald Hadley viewed the scene and ruled no autopsy or inquest necessary.  The Bathurst RCMP carried out the investigation.  Mr. Pitre was born in Bathurst, a son of the late Henry and Isabelle (Young) Pitre.  He grew up in South Tetagouche and moved to the city area as a young man.  He had been employed by Kenny's Trucking firm for five years. 

 

Mary Priscilla Pitre:  Elhatton's Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB)Mary Priscilla Daley, 1939 - October 6, 2025 Bathurst:  The world bids farewell to Mary Priscilla Daley (Bathurst, New Brunswick), departing on October 6, 2025.  Mary Priscilla leaves behind memories cherished by the community.  She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Pitre and Isabelle Pitre (Young); her husband Robert Daley (Bob); her son Joseph; and her siblings, Dorthy Gauthier (Dot), Ella Guignard, Leo Pitre and Lawerence Pitre.  She is survived by: her children, Ann Roy (William) of Bathurst, Robert Daley Jr. (Paulette) of Bathurst and Jeffery Daley (Tania) of Bathurst; and her sister Gert Christie of Bathurst.  She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.  Donations in memory of Mary can be made to the Extra Mural Program or a charity of the donor's choice.
