Obituary:  Providence Journal (Providence, RI), Thursday, 3 February 1944:  Peters - In this city, Feb. 1, 1944, Theodore E., husband of Rose M. (Walsh) Peters.  Residence, 2436 Pawtucket avenue, East Providence.  Funeral Friday morning, Feb. 4, at 8:45 o'clock from the funeral home of T. F. Monahan & Son.  So9lemn requiem mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, at 9:30 o'clock.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Calling hours 2-5 and 7-10:30 p.m.

- Guysboro (NS), Feb. 1 - Theodore E. Peters passed away suddenly at Providence, R.I.  Mr. Peters was born in Prince Edward Island Feb. 16, 1887, the son of the late Tiogene and Ruphine Peters, and married (Miss) Rose M. Walsh of Guysboro, Nova Scotia, in 1915.  The funeral was conducted Friday morning from the funeral home of T. F. Monahan and Son, Providence, with a solemn requiem mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, East Providence.  Burial was in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.  Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Joseph E. Peters, second class Petty Officer in the Navy in the South Pacific, a daughter, Miss Helen Claire, a senior student at St. Mary's Seminary, a granddaughter, Miss Anne Marie Peters, three brothers, Isadore Peters, Claremont, New Hampshire, Andrew Peters, Pinehurst, Wareham, Mass.; Frank Peters, Waltham, Mass., and two sisters, Miss Priscella Peters and Mrs. Josephine Doiron, both of Prince Edward Island.

Obituary:  Providence Journal (Providence, RI), Sunday, 31 May 1959:  Mrs. T. C. Peters. Mrs. Rose M. (Walsh) Peters of George St., Barrington, a former East Providence resident for 30 years, died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital after a short illness.  She was the widow of Theodore E. Peters.  Born in Guysboro, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late Jarius and Mary A. (Tomkins) Walsh, she had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Morgan Murphy in Barrington for the last two weeks.  Besides Mrs. Murphy, she is survived by a son, Joseph E. Peters of Brockton, Mass., three sisters, Mrs. Louis Carritte of Lynn, Mass., Miss Helen B. Walsh of Boston and Miss Mary Walsh of Guysboro, Nova Scotia and eight grandchildren.  The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the T. F. Monahan and Son Funeral Home, with a solemn requiem Mass in St. Luke's Church, West Barrington, at 10.  Burial will be in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Helen Claire Peters:  Valley News (West Lebanon, NH), Saturday, 6 July 2013:  Pomfret, Vt. - (photo) Helen Claire Murphy, 87, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2013, at the Rutland Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on Jan. 13, 1926, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Theodore and Rose (Walsh) Peters.  Claire graduated from St. Mary's Academy Bayview in East Providence in 1944, and on April 10, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, Morgan (Ed) Murphy.  They purchased a farm (now known as Morganfields) in Pomfret, and moved to the farm permanently in 1971.  Claire and her family raised Morgan horses, Angus cattle, and Hampshire sheep.  By conventional standards Claire was a small breeder who raised Morgans known for their sanity and versatility.  She had a keen eye for a good horse, and she deeply loved her Morgans.  She was past president of both the Vermont and the New England Morgan Horse Associations, a board member of the American Morgan Horse Association, a long-time member and past treasurer of the Green Mountain Horse Association as well as an active volunteer, marking trails for competitive rides.  She had a strong character and always encouraged her family to look forward.  She loved watching her two granddaughters compete in sports.  With her husband, Ed, she enjoyed spending time with their village friends at the Mountain Creamery, the White Cottage, and Pizza Chef for many years.  Claire loved to drive and enjoyed many road trips with Ed.  She is survived by her husband, Ed; her daughter, Maryanne Murphy and husband, Dennis Grady, of Ponfret; her son, Jerry Murphy and his wife, Shannon, and two granddaughters, Kirsten and Kate, all of Woodstock.  She is predeceased by a brother, Joseph E. Peters.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Woodstock.  Burial will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
