Obituary:  The Springfield Republican, Sunday, 2 June 1940:  Mrs. Delphine Peate - Mother of local woman dies - funeral held at Lowell:  Lowell, June 1 - The funeral of Mrs. Delphine Peate of this city, a former resident of Springfield where she lived for many years, and mother of Miss Elizabeth Peate of Springfield, took place this morning at the home of another daughter, Mrs. Harry Eckeland of 1417 Gorham street, with a high mass of requiem being celebrated at the Church of the Sacred Heart at 9.  Burial followed in St. Patrick's cemetery here.  Mrs. Peate, whose husband, the late Toussaint Peate, conducted a large store in Springfield for years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eckeland, Wednesday night.  She was active in parish and fraternal circles in Springfield, being a member of St. Anne's society and the Foresters in that city.  She came to this city nine years ago to make her home here and although not in the best of health had won a large circle of friends.  She was seriously ill only a day.  Surviving her in addition to her daughters in Springfield and this city are a son, Henry Peate, manager of the Arnold Print Works at North Adams and nine grandchildren.

Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Peat:  The Springfield Daily Republican (MA), Wednesday, 26 September 1934:  Joseph Peat - North Adams resident 20 years dead at age of 51 - North Adams, Sept. 25:  Joseph Peat, 51, a native of New York state and a North Adams resident for 20 years, died soon before 6 this afternoon at the home of his brother, Henry Peat of 150 Prospect street.  He had been ill for a long time.  Mr. Peat was a woolen weaver.  He leaves his brother, Henry, and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Eklund and Miss Elizabeth Peat, both of Lowell.  The funeral will be held at St. Francis's church Thursday morning, with burial in Southview cemetery.

 

Isaac Louis 'Henry' Peat:  The Springfield Daily Republican (MA), Monday, 17 August 1942:  Henry I. Peat, 58, died suddenly this morning at 7.45 at his home, 20 Lincoln street.  He was born at Morris Falls, N.Y., but had lived in North Adams for 26 years.  He was a member of St. Francis's church.  Besides his widow, Carolyn, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. Chester Jurzyk of Adams, Mrs. Edwin Busby and Misses Rita, Mary and Joan; a son, William, all of North Adams.  The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9 at St. Francis church.  Burial will be in Southview cemetery.

William Oliver Peat:  The North Adams Transcript (North Adams, MA), Saturday, 29 December 1917:  William Peat, 29 years of age, died last night at his home on Union street after an illness of about a year.  He was born in Irona, N.Y., and had lived here about a year, having come to this city from Springfield where he was last employed.  He was a machinist by trade and was known as a man of steady habits and of considerable ability in his work.  Although having been in North Adams but a short time he won the respect of those who knew him and much regret is felt at his death.  Mr. Peat is survived by his mother, and several brothers and sisters.  The funeral will be held Monday morning from Notre Dame church and the body will be placed in the vault.
