Obituary:  Beaumont Journal (TX), Saturday, 28 March 1959:  Lake Charles - The body of Saul Pitre, 70, of Moss Bluff was found at his home Friday night when a grandson, Norman Pitre, went to the house to see Mr. Pitre.  A shotgun lay on the floor beside him, the acting parish coroner, Dr. Fritz LaCour, said.  Funeral services will be arranged by Ardoin Funeral Home in Kinder, with burial at Green Oak Cemetery there.  Surviving Mr. Pitre are: Six children, Mrs. Sidney Burnett of Moss Bluff, Earl and David Pitre of Kinder, Mrs. David Landreneau, Mrs. Pete Courville and Emerson Pitre of Lake Charles; 18 other grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Emerson Pitre:  The Times (Shreveport, LA), Wednesday, 13 January 1971:  Lake Charles - Emerson Peet, 57, a Lake Charles fire department captain, died Tuesday in a local hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Margaret Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Consolotta Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.  Survivors are his widow: six sons, Emerson Peet Jr. of Moss Bluff, Norman Peet, Allan Peet and Keith Peet, all of Houston, and Mark Peet and Daniel Peet, both of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Eula George of Pineville, Mrs. Amy Reynolds and Mrs. JoAnn Simon, both of Lake Charles; two brothers, David Peet of Kinder and Earl Peet of Moss Bluff; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Burnett, Mrs. Lessie Landreneaux and Mrs. Celeste Courville, all of Lake Charles; and 18 grandchildren.

David Pitre:  Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), 23 June 1998:  Kinder:  Funeral services for David Pitre, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, in Ardoin Funeral Home.  The Rev. A.A. Haymond will officiate.  Burial will be in Green Oak Cemetery.  Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Wednesday.  Mr. Pitre died at noon, Monday, June 22, 1998, in a Kinder care facility.  A lifelong resident of Kinder, he was a member of Kingsfarm Pentecostal Church in Kingsfarm.  Survivors include one brother, Earl Pitre of Moss Bluff, and two sisters, Mrs. Lessie McClendon of Lake Charles and Mrs. Celeste Courville of Lake Charles.

Lessie Marie Pitre:  Lessie Marie Pitre Landreneau, 86, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, in a local hospital, with her children at her side.  Born in Kinder, Louisiana, to Saul and Johanna Courville Pitre, Mrs. Landreneau lived most of her life in Lake Charles.  She was a homemaker, beloved by her children and grandchildren.  She was a devout believer in Jesus Christ.  She leaves to her children the legacy of her faith, grace and dignity, and strength of character.  Mrs. Landreneau is survived by two sons, Richard Landreneau and wife Lottie and James Landreneau, all of Lake Charles; four daughters, Charlotte Morgan and husband Dicky of Moss Bluff, Susan Merritt of Sugarland, Texas, Kim Bartley and husband Richard of Prairieville, LA, and Brenda Turnbull of Richmond, Texas; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, David Landreneau.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Deacon Abe Fontenot will officiate.  Interment will be at Green Oaks Cemetery in Kinder, Louisiana.  Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, with a remembrance time lead by Deacon Jack Reynolds at 6 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Paul Landreneau, David Landreneau, Brian Gray, Michael Bartley, Grant Merritt, Jason Merritt and Donovan LaGrange.

Celeste Pitre:  Celeste Pitre Courville, 83, of Lake Charles, LA entered into eternal rest at 1:45 AM on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at a local hospital.  Mrs. Courville was born February 16, 1926 in Kinder, LA, where she lived until moving to Lake Charles sixty-five years ago.  Taking great comfort in her faith, she was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, where she faithfully received the Lord Jesus at the Eucharistic table.  She was a very special person, loved by all, and never met a stranger.  She will be most remembered for the wonderful food that she would prepare for family and friends.  She was the beloved wife of Peter Courville for sixty-four years.  She is also survived by her children, Connie McConathy and husband Joe of Lake Charles, Bobby Courville and wife Kathryn of Sulphur, and Terry Sittig and husband David, also of Sulphur; beloved sister, Lessie Landreneau McLendon of Lake Charles; special niece, Bonnie Romero; grandchildren, Mary Moresi, Ann Piazza, Kristy LeMaire, Brent Sittig, Bevin Courville, Blake Sittig, and Britney Sittig Chaisson; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.  Mrs. Courville was met at the gates of heaven by her parents, Saul and Johanna Courville Pitre; brothers, Emerson Peet, David Pitre, and Earl Pitre; sisters, Bessie Pitre and Mable Burnett; son-in-law, Willie LeMaire, Jr.; and grandson, Robert Cullen Courville.  Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.  Father Alan Trouille will officiate.  Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Earl Pitre:  American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Sunday, 11 November 2007:  Earl Pitre, 77, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, in a local hospital.  Earl was born May 31, 1930, in Kinder to Saul Pitre and Johanna Courville Pitre.  He retired from the Lake Charles Fire Department after 20 years of service.  He was also a retired painter.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with friends and family.  He especially loved his children and grandchildren.  He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Jeff Pitre and wife Amanda; one daughter, Lisa Manuel; two sisters, Celeste Courville and husband Peter and Lessie McLendon; six grandchildren, Logan, Jason, Megan, Kodie, Bradley and Broc; one great-grandson, Gavin; and two stepgrandchildren, Mallory and Daniel.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eula Hebert Pitre; two brothers, Emerson Peet Sr. and David Pitre; and two sisters, Mable Barnett and Bessie Pitre.  His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 11, in Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Deacon Jack Reynolds and the Rev. Jeffrey Ralston will officiate.  Burial will be in Ritchie Cemetery.  Visitation begins at 11 a.m.
