Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 3 March 1993: A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux for Raoul Pierce "Black" Pitre, 78, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Thibodaux, who died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 3. Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery. He was the husband of Florence Roger Pitre; father of Carolyn Stilts. He is also survived by two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raoul and Annette Soignet Pitre; two brothers, Clay and Walter Pitre; and a sister, Anastacia Theriot. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of the arrangements.
