Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 19 December 1985: Walter Pitre - Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux for Walter D. Pitre, 69, a native and resident of Thibodaux, who died today at 3:15 a.m. He is survived by his wife, Marion H. Pitre; and a brother, Raoul Pitre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raoul and Annette S. Pitre; a brother, Clay Pitre; and sisters, Agatha P. Theriot and Bernice Pitre. Visitation is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

August 1997: Marion Himel Pitre, 74, a native of Labadieville and
resident of Thibodaux, died at 10 am Friday, Aug. 15, 1997. Services were
Saturday. She is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Thibodaux. She
is survived by her niece, Sonjia Berthelot; her nephew, Bruce Richard;
and her sister, Joycelyn H. Richard. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Walter Pitre; and her parents, Sidney and Una L. Himel.
