Obituary: Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Friday, 20 June 1913: Mr. Pacifique Peters - By the death of Mr. Pacifique Peters, a link connecting the history of Rustico from the past to the present, has been broken. Deceased was in his seventy-seventh year and had passed his whole life in the pursuit of Agriculture. Gentle and unassuming in manner, living in peace and tranquility, with those amongst whom his lot was cast; guided by that golden rule which marks only the path of honour, his long and useful life, just terminated is but to be recalled to shed a beneficient influence upon those whose privilege it was to know him. He was ministered to in his late illness by his pastor, Rev. Dr. Chaisson and the large concourse of people that attended his funeral was but a slight testimony of love to his memory. Beneath the shadow of St. Augustine Church his body is laid to rest, there to mingle with the dust of his Acadian predecessors and to await the call which will summon all to judgment. Besides a sorrowing widow he leaves to mourn, the following sons and daughters - Joseph, Mrs. Burke and Mrs. Eusebe Gallant, Rustico; Abraham and Mrs. O'Neill of Moncton, N.B., Mrs. DeChevigny, Montreal; Mrs. Romain Gallant, Charlottetown, and Mrs. Hache of Rogerville, N.B., to all of whom the writer expresses his deepest sympathy and to his departed soul a prayer for his eternal repose.
